I thought she was killed for her anti-Dutch pro-EU communist stance --
nothing to do with religion.

Maybe you are referencing another incident.

The lady I'm referring to is the Dutch legislator (and ex-Muslim) that wrote the
script for the 10-minute film that the murdered Van Gogh produced.
AFAIK, she's still alive and under police protection (as are some other
Dutch politicians).

I think it was mentioned that she is under a fatwa in one of the articles
from The Telegraph (England).
And IIRC, the note attached to Van Gogh's body (by the use of what would pass for
a Bowie knife) threatened three other Dutch politicians.

Nice little details that don't get much play in the US media.
