Democrats in Denial
The American Spectator ^ | 11/09/2004 | Brandon Crocker

BUSH HAS LEARNED THAT Washington is not Texas, where he could work with moderate Democrats to achieve bipartisan goals. There are precious few Democratic moderates these days in the national government, and certainly not in the Senate. And a Republican president, especially one with Republican majorities in both houses of Congress, should not seek accommodation with liberal Democrats. Bush tried that in his first term with Ted Kennedy and he got burned. Trying to find a middle ground with the likes of Chuck Schumer and Barbara Boxer is a non-starter.

One only has to remember how they treated his father.

Bush's father I meant to say.

Oh, work with us on the tax bill they said, and he believed
them. Then they stabbed him in the back over his tax pledge
to the nation.

Yep.

I have a problem with everyone screaming that Texas Dems are moderates.....They are not.

For the most part...they are partisan liberals...and have been for the past 15 years.

Its just like when they claim that Kay Bailey is a solid conservative.......which she is not.

She has had her share of playing patty cake with the dems.
And she cannot run from her pro choice pushings.

Will any of us ever forget the abuse Kennedy and Leahy heaped on John Ashcroft during his confirmation? Tearing him apart because of his adherence to religious principles. Suggesting that those beliefs would prevent him from doing his job.

Message to Congress/President: Use Ted Kennedy as a doormat, and that will settle them down. Wipe your feet with the bums!
