Islamic school set ablaze in Netherlands

THE HAGUE, Netherlands -- Suspected arsonists set an Islamic elementary school on fire Tuesday amid a string of attacks following the killing of a Dutch filmmaker by an alleged Islamic extremist.
Firefighters struggled to extinguish the flames at the burning Bedir school in the southern town of Uden, where someone had scrawled "Theo Rest in Peace" in the building in homage to slain filmmaker Theo van Gogh, but the building was destroyed in the blaze.
Uden Mayor Joke Kersten told Dutch television she didn't know the exact cause of the fire but suspected arson. She said the school had not been the target of prior attacks.
Arsonists attempted to burn down Protestant churches in Rotterdam, Utrecht and Amersfoort in apparent retaliation for the bombing of a Muslim elementary school in Eindhoven on Monday, police said.
Muslim sites have been the target of a half-dozen attacks in the past week. No injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made.
Tensions have been high in the Netherlands in the week since the murder of Van Gogh, who was shot and stabbed in Amsterdam by an alleged Islamic radical after making a movie critical of Islam. A funeral was held for Van Gogh on Tuesday.
In Utrecht, police arrived Tuesday to find that a church window had been smashed and a container of flammable liquid thrown inside. In Amersfoort, several Molotov cocktails were thrown at the outside wall of a church.
Saddam and the terrorists kill people who speak up.
15 October, Iraqi photographer Karam Husayn, who worked for the European Pressphoto Agency, was assassinated by militants outside his Mosul home. One day earlier, Dina Muhammad Hassan, a correspondent for Al-Hurriyah television, which is owned by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, was gunned down in front of her home in the Iraqi capital. The International Federation of Journalists (http://www.ifj.org) reported on 18 October that Hassan had received unspecified threats to stop working for Al-Hurriyah and was warned to wear a hijab, or Islamic head scarf.
Not speaking up will prove to be more dangerous.
ARAB JOURNALISTS WHO SPEAK UP ARE MURDERED
One of the boldest attacks on journalists in recent months was the 30 October car bombing of the Baghdad office of Dubai-based Al-Arabiyah television. A group identifying itself as the Jihadist Martyrs Brigade in Iraq claimed responsibility for the bombing, which killed seven staff members, and injured at least a dozen employees. In a statement posted on the Internet, the group said that the channel was targeted "after much hesitation" due to its excessive praise of the interim government led by Prime Minister Iyad Allawi, Beirut's Al-Manar television reported on 31 October. The group called the bombing an "ultimatum," adding that it's next attack would be a "quality operation." The group also threatened to attack media agencies and television channels based outside Iraq should they fail to meet what it called "balanced" reporting -- meaning the media should present the militants' view in their reporting. The statement added that the militants intended to kidnap journalists and slaughter them like sheep if they continued to reflect the view of the U.S. "occupiers" in their reporting.
62 - "We are doing our best to get the butcher of TvG freed"
You are a dangerous fool. Attempting to free a murderer, because he is Muslim.
Are you reading my posts???
Arab journalists are speaking up and getting mowed down.
Why don't you read what they say before claiming they don't say anything.
You must be reading the mainstream media which doesn't report on what all these murdered Arabs are saying. They are not all Saddam/terrorist shills.
It isn't enough to speak up when the terrorists have the guns. The people who speak up need protection.
Maybe the Europeans will rediscover Christianity, decide to start having children and will fight for their civilization. I sure hope so. Looks like the Dutch are not going down (to become EurAbia) without a fight.
"You are a dangerous fool. Attempting to free a murderer, because he is Muslim."
Agreed. I think this sentiment exhibits just how terrified the Dutch really are of their muslim population.
Islam has been trying to take over Europe by force for 1400 years. There was a lull from about 1930 until 1972. They got the leftwing Europeans to open their borders. If they EU politicians said no then they would have gotten terrorist bombings. The French caved to the IslamoFacists in the 1970s.
Looks like the muslimes didn't start to feel all kissy and hugy till after they started getting a dose of thier own medicine.
Goes a long way towards preemption doesn't it.
Sentimentalist idiots that swim in the waters of tolerance, despoiling it with their droppings of excuses for the inexcusable, are suddenly seeing a rapid rise in ambient temperature. They're too stupid and insular to realize that a culture can switch on a dime. Whereas a mere few weeks ago they might have been surrounded by way-cool progressives saying "Yahh, right...diversity is...good", now they might be surrounded by an outraged public ready to yank their moronic butts off their little soapboxes to dunk them in the canals.
It's a risk, but I think people will prefer democracy because it can help them negotiate their differences without violence.
I don't think we can continue to support corrupt dictatorships and have any respect in the world.
SPEAKING UP--BUT TO THE AMERICANS SO THEY CAN GET THE TERRORISTS
U.S. MILITARY ASKS BAGHDAD RESIDENTS TO USE TIP LINE. The U.S. military has set up an anonymous tip line and has urged residents in the Iraqi capital to call in any information related to the insurgency, AP reported on 2 November. The agency reported that Brigadier General Jeffrey Hammond gave interviews to Arabic television networks on 1 November, asking Iraqis to provide information on planned attacks. "When you see this terrible insurgent about to do something, pick up your phone and call me. I'll do something about it," Hammond said. "We can fight this war together. You can help me fight -- in secret," he added. The First Cavalry Division, which Hammond commands, has received up to 30 calls per day since the line was set up two weeks ago, but has yet to yield any significant results. Division spokesman Lieutenant Colonel James Hutton said that it has been helpful in vetting intelligence and generating leads. AP cited Hammond as saying that the tip line is part of an Arabic media blitz organized by the division that includes weekly Arabic-only news conferences and interviews on radio call-in shows in Baghdad.
