Right-Wing Party Declared Illegal in Belgium [John Derbyshire]
In a nasty little example of what the Left would like to do to anyone that refuses to toe the PC line, a Belgian court has just ruled Vlaams Blok "racist," effectively making the party illegal.
Vlaams Blok is the most popular party in Flanders (the Flemish-speaking part of Belgium). Last June they got almost a quarter of the votes in regional elections. The Belgian establishment hates them, however, since they have at various times advocated (a) the secession of Flanders from Belgium, (b) the repatriation of non-European immigrants.
The lights are going out all over Europe

The party campaigns on an anti-immigration platform. Heaven forbid anyone not want to be overrun by Muslim immigrants.

"Goodnight Europe. It will be a long, dark night and only a bloody morning to look forward to."
Maybe a couple of beheaded artists and politicians with love notes from their neighborhood mosque will give them a wake-up call.

I don't know much about this Party, but I am wary of these "right-wing" Euro parties. They may use anti-immigration as a cloak for antisemitism.
Actually, I'm wary of almost all Euro politics, right or left.

This is typical. The right of self determination is not efen a racist notion. An interesting observation considering that this same left wing supports Irish "self-determination." What keeps that from being racist?

Liberalism over there is turing reality upside down. Making everything that was normal, abnormal. As Thomas Sowell explains, seeking cosmic justice. Trying to use government to change the cosmos.Well, I believe in G-d and therefore in cosmic justice (in fact, I believe in a "temporal messiah"), but I reject the notion that anyone other than the Creator can ultimately define what is just and what is unjust.

2004:

2006:
The Judicial Oligarchy of America.
Laugh now, or live under unelected, unaccountable judges tomorrow.

Even before WWII, G.K. Chesteron commented on "the modern and morbid habit of always sacrificing the normal to the abnormal."
