I like NYPD Blue as well, but I also like seeing the trial portion on Law and Order. Gives us a real peek at what slimes defense attorneys have to be sometimes. Talk about a thankless job.
7-10 hostages held by three masked men n 4th floor. per Fox

If these were Muslim "immigrants," taking hostages at the Syrian Embassy in New York, what then would be the situation?
The Mexican border MUST be blockaded, and deportation of illegals without proper ID MUST take place before these nuts take the next step towards anarchy.

2543 West 6th Street....
Lots of units still responding from citywide.

I've heard some interesting things about the Arafat situation but didn't catch it all . . . apparently today is very significant in Muslim history--something about the souls of the people who die today going all at once to heaven (yeah, right, just repeating what I heard!), God decides what to do with the Muslims (hmmmmm. . . ) and today was the day Mohammad gave them the Koran . . . and it's some important feast day or something so very significant if Arafat dies today.

god I hope so....
I'm hoping there isn't something planted. They seem to be continuing to clear the area.

FNC: Unclear if there are more suspects inside... at least 10 ambulances standing by. But it may have started as a robbery and evolved into a hostage taking/standoff. Unconfirmed: FBI and SWAT went into the building... I'll assume they received permission from Mexico for that.

If the LAPD have to storm the consulate, does that not imply an INVASION of a foreign country? If the LAPD entered the consulate without the consent of the Mexican government, it would be a violation of international law.

Locally nbc and fox have it... they showed one of the hostages (female) held captive in the arms of the 'terrorist' w/ a poster sign (couldn't read it), shots fired on him and the hostage fled....he has apparently been taken away by ambulance.

I don't think I could ever be a defense attorney. For some of those scummy people who are obviously guilty I'd just have to say in my opening statement, "Throw away the key."

I am sure we could get permission from the Mexican Government to proceed with operations if necessary. If they had explosives, the damage would cause US casualties as well, so we have a right to defend ourselves, I would think.

"Hostage in police car unharmed but shaking." He must've felt the bullet whiz by ;). But being he took a hostage at a Foreign Consulate, I imagine he is now graded a "terrorist."

Thanks for posting the news clip, for those of us without cable TV. This issue wasn't even covered on my local noon news.

Was anyone watching Fox News on election night when at one point after several talking heads had voiced their opinions, Brit introduced Greta and her camera came up for view? Instantly we thought she was going to give us her educated opinion on how Scott Peterson may have voted. On California's Three Strikes issue, perhaps? Who associates her with any other story?!! It was pretty funny.
