Bill Clinton never got a majority of the vote. 43% in 1992; 49% in 1996. The majority just split their vote between the Republicans and the Little General.
The Liberal rallying cry is that all is not lost because Bush only won over the "uneducated rural hicks" and the "religious zealots." However, the facts are something other. President Bush won a majority of college graduates, high-school graduates, people over 30, white women, married people, couples with children, white men, people earning over $30,000 a year, as well as, the dreaded evangelicals. Furthermore, Gallup reported that President Bush actually lost 6% of the rural vote that he won in 2000. President Bush, in fact, improved his electoral performance in 45 of 50 states and even narrowed the gap in California and New York. So, in recapping John Kerry won the highly coveted high school drop-outs between the ages of 20-29. It turns out that those darn Christians went and got an education and have started to earn some decent money. Liberals have to understand they havent been relevant for about 50 years.
The light finally dawns! Yes, we do disagree on what America is. We see it as the best place on earth with limitless potential. You see it as some place out of a horror movie and it must be torn down and remade in your image.
Ain't going to happen bucko.
I know he did not get a majority. All Bill got was enough to win... and that was all he needed.
That is what my post was saying. We need to keep sharp or it could happen again.
