Recently, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that the Milwaukee Latino community was outraged over conservative talk radio host Mark Belling's use of the term "wetback" to describe illegal aliens who vote illegally.
Milwaukee Latinos demanded that Belling be fired.

Flash back to July 22, 2002, when the JS reported, in reference to the sexual assault accusations of prominent Latino activist Marilyn Figueroa against then-mayor John O. Norquist, as follows:
"Figueroa had claimed she was the victim of an unwanted pursuit by Norquist, who coerced her or physically forced her to have sex multiple times. Norquist has said the relationship was consensual and denies any harassment or discrimination occurred."

One Milwaukee alderman made a ceremonial demand that Norquist resign for the alleged sexual assault, and the demand was quickly dropped.

--And the reaction of Milwaukee Latino Community is: APOLOGY ACCEPTED. NO RESIGNATION NECESSARY.
CONSERVATIVE radio talk show host Mark Belling uses the term "wetback" on the radio to describe Mexicans who illegally enter the U.S. and illegally vote. He apologizes.
--And the reaction of Milwaukee Latino Community is: APOLOGY NOT ACCEPTED. FIRE HIM.
IMO, if you vote illegally, you ought to be called something nasty.
Or hung.
Actually, I prefer the second option.
Was Belling fired? They ran Sean Hannity in his time slot this afternoon.
He has not been fired . . . yet.
Belling was not fired. The radio station has already said he will be back on the air. There's a thread here about it already.
Life of the party: Observers see its death; Communists convening in Milwaukee say otherwise
If you felt that slight tremor out of Appleton on Friday, not to worry.
That was just Wisconsin native and world-renowned Red-baiter Sen. Joseph McCarthy tossing in his grave as the Communist Party U.S.A. opened its 27th national convention in Milwaukee.
About 400 delegates and guests gathered at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Union to kick off the convention, which runs through Sunday. It began with a thunderous rendition of the workers anthem "Solidarity Forever" and a standing ovation in absentia for Mayor John O. Norquist, who touted Milwaukee's socialist history in a letter welcoming the delegates.
"In that sense, we share many things in common with the long history of the Communist Party and all those engaged in the fight for a decent life for working people," Norquist said in the letter read by aide Daisy Cubais.

The Jesuit Martyrs of EL Salvador: A Research Guide
On November 16, 1989, six Jesuit priests - Ignacio Ellacuria, Segundo Montes, Ignacio Martin-Baro, Joaquin Lopez y Lopez, Juan Ramon Moreno, and Amado Lopez - were murdered by the Salvadoran military on the campus of the University of Central America (UCA) in San Salvador, El Salvador. Their housekeeper, Elba Ramos, and her daughter Celia Marisela Ramos, were murdered there as well. The Jesuits were labeled subversives by the Salvadoran Government for speaking out against the oppressive socioeconomic structure of Salvadoran society. Their assassinations were ordered for their unwavering defense of the poor.
The Jesuits were six of over 70,000 victims who died in El Salvadors civil war which raged in the 1980s and early 1990s. The vast majority of these victims were civilians killed by El Salvadors armed forces and paramilitary death squads.
Three days after taking office, President Reagan accused the Soviet Union and Cuba of sending military supplies to Communist guerrillas in El Salvador through Nicaragua and cut off aid to Nicaragua.
