Parrish: 3 strikes, she's out
Toronto Sun Online ^ | November 8, 2004

No sooner had U.S. President George W. Bush finished his victory speech last week than Mississauga-Erindale Liberal MP Carolyn Parrish was at it again.

What's to be done about Parrish? How about a "three strikes and you're out" rule?

After all, she has gotten off fairly easily for her previous drive-by smearings of Americans.

First, over a year ago, she was caught muttering, "Damn Americans ... I hate those bastards."

A few weeks ago -- and directly to the cameras -- she used the phrase "coalition of the idiots" to describe those who back U.S. missile defence.

Last week, again, speaking directly to reporters, she announced she was "dumbfounded" that the "war-like" Bush had won four more years in the White House.

Nothing is better for our side, then Lefties lashing out.

I agree wholeheartedly. The less they feel at home in their own country, the more likely the hate-filled, blame-America-first lefties are to go find more "amicable surroundings" like Canada and Europe. We'll stay in Jesusland and enjoy the fruit of a conservative country.

Besides, the more foreigners express their disdain for "Americans" as a whole, the more they offer their advice on behalf of the world, the more likely the American populace is to tell them to shove it (to quote Tuh-RAY-zuh). Oh yeah, let 'em talk. What were you saying, Carolyn?

Thanks for the clarification. I assumed that when you said "new liberals" that you were talking about Muslims. It seems that liberals are all the same whether they are Canadian or American.

Have you ever thought about coming to the US to live? I noticed your comments about our Constitution on your profile page and you'd be very welcome here. In fact, I'd be willing to exchane several hundred of our liberals for one decent Canadian.

Muslin = Muslim in my 2nd post - so we're even.
"new Liberals" meant ones just signed up as Party members solely to vote for the vile Parrish.

As for your question "Have you ever thought about coming to the US to live?": constantly !!! However, factors like refusing to leave kids from a first marriage behind and now having a wife with a very good government job (and pension) pretty much preclude doing so.
Check out my tagline: I'm hoping for initial "trusted" status but more than ready to ace the U.S. citizenship test if it's ever offered to me - LOL!

Seriously though, I get really tired of some of the ignorant souls on FR who think it's OK to lump all Kanuckistanis in with the likes of Parrish. (it's about as fair as blaming all Yanks for Bill and Hilary!)

Finally, many of us up here - because we need to for business reasons or choose to out of sincere admiration - know a lot more about America than its average citizen (as few have these motivations) is likely to know about Canada.

You're right. It isn't fair to judge all Canadians based on the actions of your government. And I respect your reasons for staying in Canada. Actually, maybe it wouldn't be right for you to come here anyway. Maybe you should stay and try to fight for change. I also imagine that with all of your government's faults and flaws that you still love your country, just as I would still love mine if Kerry had won the election.

Nothing else needs to be said ... you just summed it up pretty good for a lot of us.

Thank you.

Whenever I think about Canada, I remember a picture that I saw that was drawn by a little Canadian girl on 9/11. It was a beaver comforting a crying eagle. It really touched me and it made me believe that we do have friends in Canada, even if your government doesn't agree with ours.

Her ejection had NOTHING to do with what she said or did about Bush, it had EVERYTHING to do with her telling Martin to go to h3!!
