OPERATION GRATITUDE(SM), together with the California Army National Guard, 746th QM BN, Van Nuys, seek to lift troops' morale, and bring a smile to their faces by sending Care Packages to service members overseas. OPERATION GRATITUDE(SM) Care Packages contain food, toiletries, necessities, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation, all wrapped with good wishes of love and support.

This is the best soldier support organization I have encountered during the past year. The founder and volunteers are bona fide patriots and they do not give out the soldiers' names and addresses to anyone, honoring OPSEC.

So, if you're local to southern California, join us this coming Veteran's Day long weekend. If you're not local, feel free to donate and/or advise deployed soldiers of this wonderful resource. I have no vested interest in the group. I am just a volunteer who wants to get the word out as Thanksgiving and Christmas approach. Thanks.

Wow, you adopted a whole platoon? How does that work? I find it's a good amount of work just adopting one soldier!

Thanks for the post - With so many groups and orgs. - our troops have to know we are behind them 100% -

Really great to see this - (Kerry and his ilk failed to pull off another one - great)

Its my sons platoon and I have a lot of help. Its not so bad once you have a system down. We ship boxes out twice a week with enough goodies for everyone. Right now the mail takes about 2-3 weeks, we rotate what we ship so they have a steady supply, 1 week its goodies, 1 week of personal hygiene items, 1 week of entertainment

What a great website, LOVED the video. I have passed the word to everyone in my address book.

BTW, maybe the admin here would be willing to run the OPGRAT link on the front page?? Sure is the right time to gear up for the Holidays. So many ways to help. Just a thought!

Thanks for the post.

Hey, I'm back! But tomorrow I go to the Armory; so just ask for "K.L." if you are there too.

Thanks everyone for spreading the word and helping as you can. The Guestbook is ongoing. Thanks for your support, Jesse Jane, and I'll work on that suggestion.

Love the photo, Aloha Ronnie, of Santa C. And, hey, Mele Kelikimaka!

I'm at FR at least once a day and missed this post. I happened to read about Operation Gratitude in a Woman's Day article at work today and found this thread when I googled OpGrat.

I have spent the last month doing this very thing on a much smaller scale from my house. We will have send out about 15 boxes when we're done (but to 2 places for our recipients to distribute). People at church helped contribute.

If you plan on doing OpGrat in AZ, count me in.

OpGrat is only physically located here in our "Valley" - the San Fernando Valley - but accepts monetary donations from everywhere. :)

Someone today mentioned seeing something about OpGrat in Woman's Day. I have to take a look at it.

Good work over there in AZ. Y'all got some great supporters there.

I saw it yesterday...it's from the Sept. or Oct. issue. I saw it in the break room at work.
