One of the (unsuccessful) mayoral candidates in Wellington last month was a secondary school teacher known by his nickname Flagburner. Every now and then he burns a New Zealand flag either on the steps of the Parliament or some other public place in protest, as he puts it, against NZ government involvement in the US imperialist aggressions.

Not only this man was aquitted by the NZ courts (it is freedom of expression, stupid!), but he is looked upon as absolutely suitable to be a mentor of the country's young generation...

Perhaps Kerry's sister, this time with Kerry; should make a return trip to NZ. Clear up any misunderstandings they may have gotten from Mz. Kerry's fist visit, made on behalf of brother John.

I just came back from a 3 week NZ vacation (honeymoon, actually) and the only anti-US sentiment I ran into was in Wellington. It was at the museum on the bay (the name escapes me). Some kids (probably college kids) had written anti-US screeds in chalk on the sidewalk outside the museum. I was really pissed and was going to find the museum HMFIC and complain, but my wife convinced me not to create an international incident. The museum must have approved because they did nothing to remove the graffiti (a lot of it was very vulgar) in the 3-4 hours we were there.

Other than that, the Kiwis are the most gracious, nicest people on earth. We actually talked to more Bush supporters than Kerry supporters. Got to meet and hang out with NZ's #1 Freeper shaggy eel and his wife, Mrs. shaggy eel!

Wow, this just came up. Looks like you have un-desireables there as well.

I heard yesterday that New Zealand has invited all of our "unhappy" citizens to come over there. Just what you need.

One plus, it'll drive up you property values. Hopefully, you can buy it back at a good price as we did a lot of the properties that the Japanese bought when they were flush. Pebble Beach Country Club an excellent example. Not sure I'd want these UD's in my neighborhood though.

We went to NZ in the spring of 01. The first thing our host said to me was "how could you elect such a stupid man as your president?" He declared himself a news junkie and thought he was up on everything. Later I discovered he got all of his news from an international CNN. Do I have to say more?

Take heart. Just as the ceaseless lies of the left provoked a backlash here, the same will happen over there. Most people are rational. Most liberalism is not. A polarizing figure like Bush (for reasons I don't clearly understand, frankly) brings a stark contrast to both sides, allowing people to see and choose. Most will choose Bush's side.

This is part of the vile Michael Moore legacy, IMO. He has done great harm to the country as a whole, along with the other Hollywood moorons.

"I wouldn't say all New Zealanders are anti-American. There were people who had genuinely diverse opinions about the United States and Great Britain vis-a-vis Iraq.

Wackos in NZ were very outspoken during the Reagan presidency. They created a 'nuclear free zone' around their country so that no nuke subs or ships could enter their harbors. It was the wacko environmentalists and socialists who were at the forefront of the movement; I don't think the typical New Zealander got that involved in the 'hate America' uproar.

Let the Kiwi's keep their heads in the sand... its only a matter of time before they have to deal with their own Beslan or Bali or 9/11. The only thing that might stop it, will be the success of America and her allies.

NZ may continue to live under the blanket of the protection we give them (like many nations in the world) and refuse to thank us for it.. That is fine, we are used to it.

,,, whether you're an individual or a country, you can't please everyone. Broadcasters can take the blame, no doubt about it. Pseudo doyens on the left who have beards, are obese, stay in bed until midday and drink too much beer and call themselves film makers can share the blame too. In this case, maybe the Anglican Church in America can share it for appointing a bendover bishop. Who knows what composite and degree of reasons could be? I suspect it's leftie parents from Wadestown and other chardonnay socialist neighbourhoods who are opposed to the rough and tumble in Iraq who are stirring this sort of thing up. They'll drive their Grand Cherokees with the leather seats on hunting trips to the deli, cursing the price of petrol but giving little thought to any military action to keep supply lines open. They'll pontificate in cafes about morals while the results of their own prejudice sees this dean export himself back to the US because his Christian environment has made him unwelcome.

Imagine him shouldering the blame as a individual for any actions judged by this small set of narcisists. Now's a good time for me to tell you that there's no problem like this at the Baptist Church I attend. I can assure y'all the election result was a topic discussed and well received yesterday after Church.

I have been in contact with a New Zealander who says that one of the most major mayors of their country is an open bisexual. She told me that homosexuality is totally acceptable there and that guns weren't allowed, etc. I think it's just another one of those ungrateful, grubby little countries.

Australia, on the other hand, had the sense to re-elect anti-gay marriage, anti-gay adoption, anti-terrorist, pro-Bush John Howard. I'll certainly scratch NZ off my potential places to visit - LOL.

No, NZ is just completely anti-American.

I have lived in New Zealand. You all need to understand they are just anti-U.S. They don’t care what your politics is they hate Americans. If your a tourist they will be nice because they see you as rich, stupid Americans who will worship their “beautiful country”. But if you live there as I did the knives come out.

The Cathedral guy was a complete LEFTY (yes to gays, against the war, the whole works). Another lefty American, a teacher, up north was harrassed by students and other teachers even worse. The SAME THING happens whether you are a conservative or not. I think they hate everyone. I made a friend there, a proud Bush supporter. He is a former colonel in the South Vietnamese Army and fought with us, which is how he came to the USA and became an American citizen. He went to live with his daughter in Auckland few years ago, but he moved back to Michigan. Those cowardly Kiwis are incredibly racist to this brave man. They call him a gook, chink, slit-eye. And when they find out he is American it gets worse. One time some kiwi said to him in front of me, you chinks are taking over this country and knocked his coffee over on purpose. Well I was fighting mad, and told them, you are lucky this man has a code because he can kill you all with his bare hands.

Like someone said it’s one of those countries, they are bitter, jealous people. Don’t ever go to New Zealand, they don’t deserve to see a red cent of our money.
