Have you all noticed how modern Israeli history is increasingly resembling the Biblical story of the ten plagues, right out of the Book of Exodus?
First, we had the Oslo team who supplied us with lots of Blood and the Deaths of the Firstborn. For Frogs, you need look no further than the photos on the front pages today of His Ugliness in Paris. The Lice are those tenured traitors at Israeli universities calling for boycotts of Israel. The evil Beasts are now running the Gaza Strip. Darkness has long covered Israel's entire media.
Anyway, this week, the Locusts are arriving. Really.
Meanwhile, the Israeli media is overflowing with all sorts of "warnings" placed there by the political establishment about how right-wing anti-Oslo protesters supposedly represent a clear and present danger, how they are threatening new political assassinations, that new political murders are just a question of time, that those awful "settlers" are arming themselves and preparing for violence; and Labor Party McCarthyists are all gushing their compassion for Ariel Sharon, supposedly being targeted for murder because of his promoting the Mitzna Plan for Gaza. And the press is repeating from morning to night all those old McCarthyist lies about how Yitzchak Rabin's death was supposedly the direct result of the exercise of freedom of speech by anti-Oslo dissidents, how Yigal Amir was simply the extension of Israel's anti-Oslo camp and the embodiment of their ideas, and so the entire anti-Oslo Right is a murderous criminal political movement that needs to be suppressed by us caring leftists.
Well, missing in all the posturing and self-righteous McCarthyism of Israel's leftist establishment is any mention at all of Tali Fahima, the Jewish leftist terrorist who assisted her Jenin Palestinian "lover" plan anti-Jewish atrocities. After years of insisting that political violence can only come out of Israel's Right, with the proof being that during 60 years a single fringe character from the Right murdered a single leftist political leader, the media just cannot bring itself to acknowledge the role of Israeli leftists in helping terrorists murder Jews.
The Israeli press and politicians are so busy inventing lies about some non-existent amorphous threat of violence from the Right, the evidence for whose existence is that the leftist press thinks it is there, that they have never quite gotten around to speaking up about the threats of violence from leftist traitors. The evidence for the existence of a clear and present danger of violence from far-leftists is not some theoretical or abstract conjecture. The role of Tali Fahima proves that at least some of Israel's leftist extremists are willing to collaborate with Palestinian terrorists in planning and carrying out mass murder and Islamofascist terrorism.
While no one at all on the Israeli Right has ever endorsed or identified with Yigal Amir's crime, almost the entire Israeli far-Left is cheering on Tali Fahima and making it clear how passionately they support her terrorism. Not convinced? Take a look at israel.indymedia.org.
Last week, Israel Supreme Court Justice Ayala Prokatcha rejected a motion by the lawyers representing Tali Fahima to let her out of administrative detention. The judge added that the evidence already presented proves that Fahima represents a clear and present, concrete, direct threat to the security of Israel, and if she is released on bail, she could participate in new terrorist activities directed against Israeli civilians (Maariv November 5, 2004). The judge's words! And no one has ever suggested this judge is right of center.
Tali's lawyers say she was meeting and collaborating with the Jenin terrorist commandants because she was promoting humanitarian projects.
The very same Israeli media, using Big Lie repetition tactics over the past nine years to demonize and delegitimize over half the Israeli polity, assaulting over and over the rights of free speech of those who oppose the Left, screaming every day about imaginary threats of violence from Israel's anti-Oslo Right - have nary a word to say about Israel's premier leftist gyno-terrorist.

The entire Israeli media, with the single exception of Arutz Sheva, is rabidly left-wing. Even the Jerusalem Post has moved further to the left since a recent change of management.
What is worse, the government has been trying to shut down Arutz Sheva for "incitement" (i.e. telling Israelis the truth about the "peace process")

I felt the same astonishment as you, when I found out. The last straw was when the General Attorney threatened to close down Arutz, a site I read from time to time.

I don't know enough about the history of Israel, it's a very very complicated issue to say the least...I believe they have something like 22 political parties...their constitution was written by (I believe) an Austrian Jew named Herzl and it's basically Socialist. Arabs have seats on their parliament (Knesset) and every vote counts...Have you heard of Professor Eidelberg? He wants to institute constitutional reform.
