>> My brother thought that the counties along the Mississippi were particularly industrial, and were probably the home to a lot of union members.

Think about that. The Dem cities were the first to industrialize, and are among the oldest cities in the US. These places created many millionaires a hundred years ago, and now exist as a declining memory of what used to be.

Once the rich gained power, they didn't let go. Once the union goined power, it didn't let go. I bet an examination would show that these blue dots are the same cities that became "donuts" during the 50's and 60's as suburbs sprang to life.

IMO, the most vibrant business life is in the suburbs, not in the inner city. Ought to be a doctoral thesis in there somewhere, especially from a conservative POV.

I honestly do not recall seeing an ad for Jones.

Neither did I.

Voted for him anyhow, for all the good it did.

So did I, for all the good it did as well.

You're right - there were indeed multiple Boxer ads, all of them annoying.

I figure we get geared up to take out DiFi in 2006, unless she decides to retire. Not sure who the Dems would put up if she left, but we could run Issa or even Condi Rice (if she were interested) against her and have a very good chance of winning.

Mostly Indian reservations
