If Specter gets his Chairmanship, let's boycott Santorum in 2006 (A Threat)

Posted on 11/07/2004 3:05:58 PM PST by Remember_Salamis

We must make it perfectly clear to Rick Santorum that if he lets Specter chair the judiciary committee, we WILL NOT SUPPORT HIM in 2006 for Senate. Instead, we will support Pat Toomey.

We must also make it perfectly clear to Bill Frist that if he does not block Specter Chairmanship, he might as well not even enter the 2008 primaries.

Both of these men hold the power over Specter and we must threaten to boycott their futures if they ignore their base.

Santorum is #3 in the senate leadership heirarchy and Santoru,'s endorsement of Specter was key in Specter beating Conservative Pat Toomey in the primaries.

Well, okay. But no matter how much Santorum might have campaigned for him, doesn't the ultimate responsibility lie with the voters who returned him to the Senate, knowing his views?

Growing up on AF bases I was taught that warrant officers were equivalent to full birds. You should see the houses they live in across the street from the officers' club at Barksdale.

"I never heard you speak out against them."

I've even explained why many so-called "contraceptives" are really chemical abortifacients several times before.

The AF doesn't have W-Os because we decided some time ago we would rather build a higher-quality NCO corps.

You know damn well that a commission for a W-O isn't the same thing as an officer's commission.

Yes, the Air Force is on real tough times; that's why we have to cut 12,000 airman from our service and starting in January the Air Force will only be accepting recruits for critically-manned AFSCs.

It's the Army with the 20,000-man shortfall. It's the Army that has to rely on the so far wildly-unsuccessful "Blue to Green" program for Airmen to join the Army.

I doubt that the White House will even take notice of them.

True enough, but the MSM sadly does listen to them, making them feel important, when all they do in reality is cause problems for our side.

A polite phone call to Sen. Santorum would help the cause.

I'm okay with that. I'm not okay with a Dreier-like witch hunt, ala John and Ken.

Unfortunately for the AF, they did away with warrant officers a few years back; hence the intellectual understanding of the "airman" on this thread.

While I must admit to a certain prejudice, I will always contend that I would far rather be a warrant, particularly a Chief Warrant Officer, then any other pay grade in any of the services.

It is their game and they know we are not going to get enough lazy stupid people off their asses to learn enough to vote them out!!\

just start a re-call on spectur(yes, i know i spelled it wrong) and the rest...don't threaten or mince words with them..just put 250 people in malls and wal-mart on the weekend with recall petitions and then get the local media to come out and then watch 'em squirm.

Santorum (and Bush/Cheney) campaigned for Spector modestly. Spector was a cameo, and Bush was the starring role. Arlen had the support of Michael J. Fox (re: stem cell); big labor (the teachers' union in particular just love Arlen) and even Kerry himself (there were 'Kerry/Spector' signs places around the commonwealth. Spector distanced himself from the base, ie., conservatives.

As for the voters being ultimately responsible for returning him to the Senate, fast Eddie Rendell dropped the ball, big time, or Hoeffel would be the Junior Senator from PA right now.

"You know damn well that a commission for a W-O isn't the same thing as an officer's commission."

Pssssst. Hey Sparky. Most services only "warrant" their warrant officers, the service I spent 30+ years in "commissions" them, and the "commission" is the exact same "commission" that all other "commissioned" officers receive...no difference whatsoever.

As for the Air Force and it's warrants, they converted them to mostly 0-4 slots. Check your history sparky.

I agree with you. Santorum is one of the best. It would be absurd to boycott him -- the liberals would love it. And let's face it, there is hardly anyone with whom we would agree 100%.

The coming judicial fights are going to be very tough and we need the BEST MAN for the job. Specter has shown he can't stand up against the Dems. Consider

You forgot that Soros backed him.

When Specter gets the opportunity, he will take the lead in shooting down appointees. He promised the Pittsburg-Gazette he would. Perhaps, he promised Bush and Rove, he wouldn't. That means you can't trust his word. By his deeds he's a rat.

Regarding Santorum, he should probably distance himself a little more from Specter.

LOL! You have two choices. You can google warrant officers and learn at least a little bit about the topic or you can continue making an utter fool of yourself. Personally, I prefer the later.

You see there Sparky, the Army warrants its warrants. Which makes it fairly obvious that I'm not Army. Are you still with me Sparky?

It would also appear that you knowledge of the Army is handicapped by having hemorrhoids for ear muffs. It is very apparent that you have no idea what our Army troops are really like which I am sure any one of them would be more then willing to explain to an errant "airman".

Couldn't pass those pesky upper-level classes and had to settle for the Associates Degree?

How many "upper-level" classes do you have?

Well, since the mid 70s the closest I've come to the military is taking my mother to the veterans cemetery each week.

Military wives are the great unrecognized patriots of America.

You will get absolutely no argument from me there. I always made it a point of expressing the knowledge that I was not the only one in my family who served. I may have had the honor of wearing the uniform but my wife and two sons serving right alongside of me every step of the way.
