Sorry about the vanity, but this is a must read for conservatives.
On the McLaughlin Group this weekend, Lawrence ODonnell actually stated that the Red states were welfare and that the Blue states paid for the Red states. He further urged the Blue states to secede from the Red states. And he was quite serious. In the past few weeks ODonnell has had foaming-at-the-mouth mental breakdowns, especially on MSNBC, but when he made his comments on the McLaughlin Group, he was quite calm and collected.
First, are these the people to whom Bush is required to reach out to?
Second, as McLaughlin would say, Bye, bye!
Little Loathsome Larry has previously proved himself a babbling nitwit -- this just re-confirms that he keeps his head in that part of the anatomy where the sun don't shine.... and he is a Haaaaahvahd graduate! Clearly he knows better than anyone else.
Larry's really begging to get creamed isn't he?
I wish all the lefty liberals would just stop talking already and go.
"The red states receive more in federal tax money than they pay into the treasury."
We would have to see some detailed figures and breakdowns to judge what this means (if it is true). That verb 'receive' obscures much, even if this statement might be true in terms of the dollars of federal receipts and expenditures (I don't know that it is -- do you have the numbers?). Granting for the sake of argument that it may be true, I would wager (if I were a betting man) that a very disproportionate percentage of the nation's military expenditures and also the members of our armed forces are concentrated in the 'red' states (unless CA's bases offset the south and southwest). I'd bet a disproportionate share of the nation's defense is borne by soldiers, Marines, sailors, and airmen who grew up in 'red' states (that does not in any way denigrate all who serve and came from 'blue' states, but I suspect they respresent a smaller % of their states' populations).
The only drawback to the internet -- it lets seriously demented people communicate with each other......
ROTFLMAO! Yeah, I know all those hard working, thrifty, Liberal families are sick and tired of having to pay high taxes to support the Republican welfare & food stamp class.
What an idiot O'Dummell is!
My parents live outside of Buffalo, too -- in Olean. They are sick and tired of footing the bill for the loser welfare ne'er-do-wells in NY City. If the people in the blue cities would migrate northward into Canada that would be a start in saving America. To repear Sean Hannity's over-told joke: Q. What do you call 100 liberals moving to Canada? A. A good start.
Plus, more major corporations are based in the blue cities, so corporate income tax revenue is higher from the blue states. Finally, traditional welfare spending has taken a hit with the success of the various welfare reforms while agricultural subsidies have held relatively strong. Today's welfare is Earned Income Credit -- that's something you can get while working so there's plenty of it in both red and blue areas.
"let them eat cake", or frickin' TWINKIES like perpetual left-wing maggot and irrelevant FAT-ASS - Michael Moore!
Great idea Lawrence, glad that you brought it up. Instead partitioning geographically, how about if everyone on "welfare" (that is receiving Government largesse)secedes from the Union. They can run their own Government however they want. Those not needing government assistance can have their government. What say you Lawrence?
O'D has royally lost it.
Let's go for the exit plan on a county-by-county basis.... Hello Canada...
i support their secession. they should all move to one or two states and then secede.
I don't think I could tolerate Moore, O'Donnell, Streisand, McAuliffe, Rather, Olbermeyer and others in my face for the next 4 years.
I'm so glad to be in theirs.
Someone was on TV a few days ago and said that if Canadians could vote on matters such as sodomite marriage, Canada would be as "Red" as the U.S.
