this one is more useful:

Celebration is warranted, as we have ample reason to celebrate.
Gloating is fine, in moderation.
But there is a risk of getting cocky if we sit in an echo chamber and see solid red with no hint of the real blend.
That kind of stupidity did in the Left this cycle.
We need not repeat their error.

I, too am gratified to see so much red on the map and know that we have some sanity in the WH for another 4 years.

However (and please, PLEASE don't mistake this for troll stuff. I only speak from concern that we not get too complacent), cornfields and cacti don't vote: people do. I saw one map based on population centers that was much more realistic (but still very gloatworthy), and it still made the point that we have some work to do if we want to stay happy in election 2008.

Instead of by county, I'd like to see one by Congressional district.

Thank you for locating this map!
I'd posted previously looking for such a presentation of the data.

The other maps are deceptive in that they only differentiate between 49.9% and 50.1%...

I don't think 51% to 49% is a reason to be sure -- and those blue areas to me look like a malignancy --- of Communism. That map shows that the less densely populated areas of the country are filled with more self-reliant people --- but with the population doubling every 50 years or less --- the future doesn't look so good. The big urban areas are dependent on the government.
