Statehood for Utah, that is.
Dale O'Leary's "The Gender Agenda" (BOOK) is a superbly researched and interviewed study of the various "WOMEN'S conferences" around the world. Particularly of note, is her chapter on the Beijing Women's Conference. This was a major turning point for socialist feminists around the world, as conservatives from many countries stood firmly upon morals and ethics.
Common sense, at last.
You get the Cynthia Tucker award for Moral Obtuseness.
The Catholic Church agrees.
"Homosexual unions are totally lacking in the biological and anthropological elements of marriage and family which would be the basis, on the level of reason, for granting them legal recognition. Such unions are not able to contribute in a proper way to the procreation and survival of the human race. The possibility of using recently discovered methods of artificial reproduction, beyond involving a grave lack of respect for human dignity,(15) does nothing to alter this inadequacy."

CONSIDERATIONS REGARDING PROPOSALS TO GIVE LEGAL RECOGNITION TO UNIONS BETWEEN HOMOSEXUAL PERSONS
Homosexual Agenda ping - Save This One!
Excellent, excellent article. I can't say that enough.
Down the thread various leftist/homo talking points are trotted out. Feel free to disassemble them.
Let Scripter AND me know if anyone wants on/off this pinglist.
(Note - I am back and am considering doing another pinglist, moral absolutes and all that...let me know your thoughts and if you'd like on it.)
Actually, polygamy has a lot more going for it than homosexual "marriage".
One, it has historical and cultural precedent, which same sex "marriage" does not.
In that historical and cultural precedent, even when and where polygamy was/is current, same sex acts were and are considered unnatural, unhealthy and immoral.
There is a chasm of difference between a man having marital relations with more than one wife and a man anally or orally sodomizing another man or men.
In a polygamous marriage, the children still have a mother and a father.
I am not a proponent of polygamy. I can't even imagine trying it (shudder).
BTTT
And where will that slippery slope lead us? One can marry one's sister/brother/cousin? Three people in a marriage? One can marry one's farm animals?
Same sex marriage is bad enough, after that it is but a small step into the abyss.
I've saved both part 1 and part 2 for the archives. Do you know if part 1 was ever posted in full on FR?
Not according to psychologists just in case that matters.
If by "partners" you mean spouses, no, Mormons aren't legally allowed to have more than one spouse. Polygamy is at the present time illegal throughout the United States.
actually the APA has become severly discredited in this regard. Especially during their much publicised attempt to "destigmatize" pedophilia.
It is such a BAD idea it's a no brainer. There are plenty of heterosexual couples who are willing to adopt.
Not allowing pedophiles to adopt is discrimination.
Not allowing people into domestic violence to adopt is discrimination.
Not allowing necrophiles to adopt is discrimination.
Not allowing sadists and masochists to adopt is discrimination.
Not allowing polygamists to adopt is discrimination.
Not allowing the homeless to adopt is discrimination.
Need I go on ?
No. As I understand it most of these are placements of older children, children with problems and other hard to place children whose other options are worse.
There are still heterosexual couples who are willing to adopt such children and with a samrt campaign there would be more. A homosexual household isn't a good situation for children who already have many problems and have had it tough enough already.
Obviously there are not. In DC anf Florida where such adoptions have been approved, annually we have stories of children killed by foster parents where the children were placed for lack of a suitable other alternative.
bump
In other words, in light of this and the previous conversation between O'Donnell and her son, it is wrong for him to want a daddy because God decided that he shouldn't have one. "
Every Supreme Court Judge Federal or State That would legalize homo-adoption should be impeached! They deserve nothing but contempt.
