Now that President Bush has won reelection, maybe he'll feel secure enough to restore the First Lady of the Press to her front-row seat.
"No," predicted Helen Thomas on Friday when she keynoted the 9th Annual WomenVenture Conference at the Minneapolis Convention Center. "He's still afraid of me. He can't take my questions. Mine are very simple."
When I asked her how it feels to be the scariest little old lady in America, as far as W. is concerned, she said, "I don't feel anything but sorry for him, if he can't take a tough question. He's the president of the United States."

She doesn't ask questions...she spews diatribesThat's not being a reporter.
But, oh, ya gotta feel sorry for her. If you had that face greeting you in the mirror every morning, wouldn't you be a little rabid too?

If I had to look at that, I'd drink some kool aid.

Bush should be thrilled to put this demented old hag in the very front row and make her the face of the anti-Bush left.
He doesn't even have to answer her deranged questions to make her look bad.

Had dinner with Helen at Mama Aisha's in DC. She is extremely anti-semetic. Her parents were Lebanese immigrants and she looks very Arabic up close.
She also gets drunk quickly, and accordingly to the staff, nightly.

The old bat is lucky I'm not president. I'd find some way to have her banned from all federal properties as a security risk.

The reason she doesn't have a front-row seat any more is because she's no longer a reporter. She only writes columns now, ever since she quit UPI because it was sold to a non-liberal organization.
Technically, she has no reason to hold a White House press pass at all. If it wasn't for the uproar that would that the other reporters would make about it, she'd have been tossed out two or three years ago.

Helen Thomas has no business in the White House. She is not a reporter. She was one many years ago, but now she is just the White House cat lady.

Any chance they can bring Ari back to mess with her some more? Dubya and the press office may have some feelings toward Helen Thomas, but I think I can safely say that fear is not one of them.
