There's a lot of talk of vote-machine fraud in Dem circles, i.e., that electronic voting machines gave Bush an advantage by creating votes. "Proof" of this is the discrepency with exit polls, which showed Kerry much stronger in states with e-voting machines. I have no idea whether there is any evidence of this. BUT, let's assume this discrepency exists. Whose to say that it isn't the exit polling that was skewed to produce a favorable result for Kerry, and that it was skewed exactly in states, i.e., states with e-voting machines, that would allow the Dem's conspiracy theory to develop? Isn't the exit poll organization headed by a former CBS head (read, liberal Dem)? Relying on a single organization to do exit polling can reak havoc, as seems to be happening over and over again. Maybe this organization needs to be investigated, big time.
Seems that the democrats found an advantage in Cobo hall.

BTW, the Virginia situation has an easy explanation (early exit polls said Kerry would win) that rather proves the case. The earliest exit poll data came from Northern Virginia which has more than it's fair share of New Yorkers and New Englanders, all of whom vote Democrat for inexplicable reasons.
word from John Fund was that "someone" leaked the location of the exit pollsters - and moveon sent people there to "pose" as people who had just voted, to make contact with the exit pollsters, and of course say they voted for Kerry. who knows what really happened - either the exit poll mechanism was a scam from the start, or some group skewed the results.
look at is this way - they tried this gambit in 2004, and it failed. they won't be able to use it again in 2008.
Wow - now THAT is voter fraud!
The reason: Kerry lost. Don't confuse us with the facts.
All the more reason that exit polling should be outlawed. In fact, I'm surprised it is legal. Am I allowed to just hang out at a polling place and approach/harass voters for whatever reason?

Voter fraud for Kerry is only correcting the 2000 election mistake. So it's O.K and justified
It's for the common good of the country to get Kerry in office.

Let's get rid of the Electoral College in favor of the Early Exit Poll results. KERRY WINS!! Bring those cameras back in here!
It's always been my position that most of the polls, pre-election and exit, have been skewed all along to provide fodder for contesting the results of the vote count.
You should have seen the local news report. I quote one of the ballot counters.
"theres a white man in there"
On election day, a talk show host on here in Nebraska said as his show was starting that he had been given an exit poll and he lied on it. He said he voted for Kerry and that he was a woman. Who knows how many other people lied.
I have been reading the Daily KOS and DU. They are all worked up to a frenzy. It seems that they are examining some NW Florida counties that show disproportionate Rep. turnout in Dem. counties. They think that the exit polls show what the results should be. I've been doing some research on this as well. It seems that the exit polls results, when they were totalled after all of the voting was completed are closely matched to the final voting results that have been reported by the states. It seems that the early exit poll results that were reported to the newsmedia from internet bloggers (later reported on Drudge) showed Kerry with sizeable leads in most states, including NC, VA, FL and OH. The WAPO has an article about this called "New Woes Surface in Use of Estimates" by Richard Morin.
Occam's Razor.
Which is easier to rig:
1. exit polls, or
2. balloting
One phone call from one bent pollster employee is
that's required to explain #1.
#2 requires a massive conspiracy.
However, even #1 requires a considerable number of
people downstream of the call, to go pose as voters.
I'd think there'd be a huge risk that at least one
would blab.
The biggest joke at DU right now is the thread "Let's Design and Produce Our OWN Voting Machines!" Yeah, all they need is Gyro Gearloose and some of Unka Scrooge McDuck-Soro's millions! Those clowns have finally become a cartoon of themselves!
This whole thing is so desperate. One has to wonder about the mental stability of some of these people.
The exit polls they cling to were heavily skewed towards women voters (largely democrat group), did not include the afternoon voters which are typically the family crowd (a largely republican group) and finally, the exit polls in 2000 were just as incorrect as these one's.
It's really quite bizarre to see such denial. Much like they're reasons to hate Bush, it all hinges on conspiracy theories. It's pathetic.
I think that you stated it best: Occam's Razor.
I also do not believe the polls of percentages of minorities who voted for Bush. I believe they are skewed and inaccurate.
