We must convince our Congressmen in the 109th that there is no reason to have public money spent on PBS, NPR or the NEA. Why do we loot funds from tax payers to pay to have these public agencies insult and work against public interest and culture? Now, the unions may loot cash from the dues of their members to espouse left wing issues. We, as taxpayers, shouldn't have to be brought down to the level of union members. Let's work to stop public funding of NPR, PBS and the NEA!!

You've got to remember that Garrison Keillor is a male version of Judy Woodruf. He's not without his pleasant qualities--but he's a raving lunatic Radical Leftist and doesn't even have sense enough to try to hide it.

I grew up listening to him. I used to love his show.
He really went off the deep end after the Paul Wellstone funeral and I could not listen to him after that.

Al Franken says that he's being approached to run for Senate in his native Minnesota. He just might do it since time is running out on HotAir America. I wonder how Keillor -- a certified radio superstar who is synonymous with Minnesota while Franken is still known as a former Saturday Night Live schtickster -- will feel about that!

Now the opening was a bit funny in that you knew the man was reeling from 11/2:
Garrison said he was working fro a Constitution Amendment to revoke the right to vote for "born again" Christians. (audience goes wild) The punch line was that since the are Citizens of Heaven, they should have the vote. If they get to vote, why not Canadians or Scandinavians ...
It was the pain and confusion that was the most entertaining.

Because we're stupid?
What other choice is there?

Jefferson said this in the same letter:
It is true that we are compleatly under the saddle of Massachusets & Connecticut, and that they ride us very hard, cruelly insulting our feelings as well as exhausting our strength and substance. Their natural friends, the three other eastern States, join them from a sort of family pride, and they have the art to divide certain other parts of the Union so as to make use of them to govern the whole.
Reminds me of Skeery and the Libs

"He just read a piece he claimed was by Thomas Jefferson in which Jefferson indicates that the influence of witches will pass, suggesting I guess, that the control of Republican good guys will also pass. "
You finally nailed it... The weird hostility coming from the dem. party is nothing more than a witch hunt. You see it in the violence leading up to the election. You see it in the unhinged rage coming from the left. The lefties have been blacklisting the right for years, but are now finally copping to it.

I never listen to NPR but happened to hear this A**HOLE, while looking for a talk radio station on my home from work. What a smarmy POS.

We used to make a pledge yearly to NPR mainly because we like classical music. The past couple of years we have stopped sending them money because of their leftist programs.

Why do we fund NPR (and PBS for that matter?) Because every time it comes up for a vote, *Republicans* vote to keep the funding, right along with the Democrats. It's a mystery why they do that, but the funding wouldn't continue w/o Republican support.

I wonder what the income level is of the average NPR listener.
Perhaps they can afford to support the station by their contributions.

I agree. If radio or TV is to be "public" then it should not be INSANELY onesided politically. Pull the plug, Bush!! How long do you think Limbaugh and Hannity would last on NPR before the libs would storm Washington? Why do we always have to bend over backward??
