I've wanted to see The Incredibles since I saw the previews for it on Finding Nemo. Sounds really good. I loved Shrek also, and expect Shrek II tp be good too.

I can't wait for the extended version LOTR: Return of the King DVD.

That should be out this month.

Our family just watched the Shrek2 dvd.

Puss'nBoots steals the show.

He gets the biggest laugh.

Very enjoyable parody of Hollywood.

I've only purchased 2 DVDs (Lord of The Rings: FOTR and TT) since I started using netflix. I see no need. Movies I like will always be there for rent if I want to see them again. And now that they're lowering there 3-at-a-time price to about 18 dollars/mo I'm averaging about a dollar a movie.

And instead of getting HBO I can just watch any series (Sopranos and whatnot) I like on DVDs from netflix; albeit about 6mos to a year later.

I wonder if growing netflix use has created an impact on DVD sales and pay tv.

DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. said there was no battle between Shrek and Pixar Animation Studio Inc's, and investors recently have boosted shares in both companies on anticipation they would be blockbusters.

I love both Shrek and Pixar, but they're lying if they say there's no battle between DreamWorks and Disney. Jeff Katzenberg used to be head of Disney animation, and Michael Eisner ran him off. Katzenberg was responsible for Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and Little Mermaid. Shrek I was basically a continued slam on Disney. He also released the Shrek I video on the same weekend that Monsters Inc. came out. He rushed Antz into production to try to get it in the theatres in time to take profits away from A Bug's Life (they were released within a couple of weeks of each other), and Shark Tale was obviously a ripoff of Finding Nemo. Eisner responded by making the Lilo and Stitch advertising campaign into a series of Stitch coming in and jerking with characters from the Katzenberg films at Disney.

Katzenberg's final slam at Disney may be getting Pixar to sign on with Dreamworks for distribution rights to Pixar movies. Eisner, as he's done with everything else at Disney, screwed up in his relationship with Steve Jobs, Pixar's President. This is the last movie under the original contract between Disney and Pixar, and Pixar doesn't need Disney anymore. Also, Eisner managed to kill off the animation division at Disney, so Disney will functionally be without and children's movies for the forseeable future. No telling who Pixar is going to sign with to do distribution, but they're going to get a sweet deal. Every Pixar movie has been solid gold.
