Of course, you're right. I shoud have clarified (Hollywood renditions of the great Broadway classics). Sondheim, Gershwin, Berntstein, Cabaret, Chicago, West Side Story, etc. et.al. were the genesis. Probably an argument can be made that the Post WWII Musicals era was a Hollywood creation (albeit cloned from the Broadway musicals as well).

"They haven't got a clue or a prayer of being back in power for the next decade."

This is the same thing I heard smug conservatives saying when Ronald Reagan left office. Eight years of Clinton proved otherwise. The democratic party remains a huge threat. We should start working hard NOW for electoral reform; for a solid 60-vote Senate majority in January, 2007; and for the development of highly electable Republican conservatives and the defeat of Hillary in 2008.

When one side has all the food and all the guns, I'd say the other side is in bad shape. :O)

I must admit this one thing: When Kerry added Edwards to his ticket I was scared to death.

I have always known that the south carries heavy weight in presidential elections.

I was wrong about Edwards, but correct about the south.

George Soros of big biz spend $17 million of his own money in a campaign to defeat Bush.

Thnk you Mr. Soros for helping our economy by spending so lavishly.

[ In a lament titled "17 reasons not to slit your wrists," Moore looked at the bright side of things: Bush could not run for President again under law; ]

Fairly accurate.....
But Laura Bush could run for President and George could be 1st husband legally.. with George offering whatever support a spouse could in the way of advice..know what I mean ?

Wanna see a liberal meltdown!... LoL...
Camelot, Camelot wherefore art thou Camelot...
No doubt they would run against Hillary and Bill which would be..
Comealot, Comelot wherefore art thou Comealot..

NOTE: A Presidential election of historic proportions.. No joke because thats EXACTLY what Bill and Hillary have planned.. Except they didn't think of the senario presented above..

"It wasn't just showbiz that was suckered. George Soros of big biz spend $17 million of his own money in a campaign to defeat Bush."

You know- next election, I'm going to have to start one of these 527's. I'll raise a ton of money from liberals who are too mad to think straight (hopefully a few million from Soros), put out a few well-designed anti-Republican ads in states that will be offensive enough to swing voters and Christian democrats to make them vote for our side, waste the rest of it in sponsoring rallies in San Francisco that nobody else will care about, and pocket enough of the rest of it to set me up for life.

Anyone else in?

In his pre-election appeals, Moore urged young slackers who have never voted to "Sleep till noon, drink beer, vote Kerry." Although a majority of the youth voted Kerry (54-44), it seems not enough of them woke up in time.

"Michigan voted for Kerry! So did the entire Northeast, 6 of the 8 Great Lakes States, and the whole West Coast! Plus Hawaii."

Far, far from the truth - take a good look at the county maps - only slivers voted for Kerry - big cities in the Midwest, West and East. America is for Bush.

Showbiz socked it into Bush with gale force. Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, Sharon Stone and Meg Ryan, Barbara Streisand and Neil Diamond, Samuel Jackson and Robert de Niro, Ricky Martin and Justin Timberlake, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, Stevie Wonder and Eminem, all campaigned for Kerry.

Who are these people or who knows or better yet who gives a Rat's Patoot?

Where do I sign? I'd like to get a final 527 run down, top to bottom how much cash each group ultimately raised. We all know one thing though, Swifties got the biggest bang for their buck!

he and his ilk really don't WANT to understand the red states.

They can't understand red states. They think the whole election was about gay marriage and Roe v Wade.
While it's true that some of the Conservatives voted primarily on those issues, there were many more who had more interests in mind - the war on terror, an ownership vs a welfare society, trust in our leaders, education, etc.

Until the Liberals can expand the scope of their discussions (and I don't think they will any time soon), they won't "get it".
