In Milwaukee, if you're a Democrat they'll look the other way. In fact I wonder if anyone knows the year and who the last Republican to run for the position of Mayor of Milwaukee.
Interfering in an election is a violation of federal law as well as state law. Milwaukee law enforcement may very well ignore this crime but I certainly hope that the feds won't.
Can't help you w/ a Republican but Milwaukee had a Socialist Mayor during the 40's. Not real sure but I think his name was Frank Zeitler. Served a couple of terms. Milwaukee (& SE Wisconsin) has a long history of left-of-center politics. For years they have tried to hide by calling themselves "independents" but they still walk like a duck.
