I do like Keyes better than Condi, that's for sure.
Personally, I feel that if the appointments of Clarence Thomas, Colin Powell, and Rice (not to mention all of the other high-profile minorities in the Republican party) were unable to accomplish this, putting a black woman on the presidential ticket won't -- unless she isn't a conservative.
That's a very good point. Witness this as well, that the Black Community voted Bill Clinton entrance to the African American Hall of Fame, essentially naming him an "Honary African American!" More important than race to them is LIBERALISM.
I stand by my assessment that Rice is an obscure governmental bureaucrat by comparison to the public opinion about Ike circa 1950.
Well of course! Condi was never a General. Besides, those times were unique in that it was a much bigger world on the cusp of the technology boom that would create our smaller world today.
One thing is certain -- Clarence Thomas will never be in that Hall of Fame!
