Which Fox News anchors/reporters/pundits/hosts do you think are really, sincerely right-leaning? (VANITY)

We probably all prefer Fox News over CNN, CNBC, the network news shows, etc.

But I was wandering as I was watching the election night coverage and Brit Hume seemed so giddy with excitement when Bush started to pull away - what are the true political leanings of the Fox News staff?

My take:

Bill O'Reilly - Basically a slightly left-leaning Libertarian redeemed by a belief in a vigorous American foreign policy and a sneering content for the MSM

Brit Hume - love the guy....with us 100%, I believe...I LOVED the way he interacted in such an over-the-top way with Susan Estritch on election night basically wiping her face with Kerry's loss....

Fred Barnes - same as Brit, 'red' to the core....but fair and honest in his analysis..

Shep Smith - seems to also take glee in Democratic pain but not so sure....his very patriotic stances make me think he's one of us, though...

Sean Hannity - no issues with Sean....

Morton Kondracke - middle of the road leftie but fair....

Greta Van Susteren - big time left winger if I had to guess...

Juan Williams - leftie....no doubt about it....

What do you all think???

Brit may be an "old chum" of kerry's but he's a close family friend of the Bushes! As far as I know, he's the ONLY member of the media who's been invited to a State Dinner at the WH - that was the very first one....don't know how may they've held since 9/11....don't hear about them in the rag here in Houston...

What about Carl Cameron? He covered Kerry's campaign. I've always thought he was right leaning.

I would imagine Carl was ASSIGNED to cover the Kerry campaign, just as James Rosen was assigned to cover President Bush's campaign. Usually a news director will send reporters to cover the campaign they don't support or lean toward in order to get a perspective that is, well...more fair and balanced. It tests the mettle of the reporter and improves journalistic skills. A bad news director will send a reporter who is gung ho for the candidate.

That said, I think Carl Cameron does a terrific job of reporting. James Rosen, on the other hand, seemed to have to hold his disdain in check in order to report what was happening and would use humor to overcome it.

First time I saw Shep was after the execution of McVeigh. He was one of the three pool reporters chosen to view the execution. When he approached the mike, he identified himself saying "Sheppard Smith with the Fox News Channel. That's Sheppard, S-h-e-p-p-a-r-d, Smith, S-m-i-t-h." I cracked up. Thought, even this member of the media realizes what idiots we have working as reporters in this country that he had to spell SMITH. Have loved him ever since - especially after Bama beat Ol Miss this year.....He looked like he needed a hug - and believe me, I was more than willing....!

James Rosen

OMG an elitist snob. I wanted to barf at some of the comments he made on CSpan as a panel member. Perfect example of a guy the "doesn't get it".

At the time of President Reagan's funeral I heard Juliet Huddy saw that R.R. inspired her to major in Political Science instead of Journalism in college. I like her MUCH better than ED Hill -- & would watch Fox & Friends much more regularly if she was on during the week.

Major Garrett said that he waited in line with his children, during the night, so that they could walk past President Reagan's casket & pay their respects.

I could tell Brit Hume had the right stuff back when he was ABC's White House correspondent.

Back when he was writing occasional articles for National Review? ;-)

"Carl Cameron"

Absolutely right leaning. You could tell when he covered the Kerry campaign that he couldn't stand Kerry. He is the one who brought out little tidbits like Kerry getting a manicure before the 1st debate. I really like him. He deserves a medal for having to follow Kerry around for months.

I like Jane but I would give Molly Henneberg the "Mary Ann" title. Wow! She looks like she's straight out of the Kansas corn fields. "She's so fine! She wants my body!"

O' Rielly is not Libertarian. He does the anti-WOD as a populist gimmick.

OMG! She's on the market! (heheh.)

Don't think Mrs. S. would approve of polygamy!

Besides, based on that rock Juliette was wearing from her last hubby, she's way out of my financial league.

"Brit Hume"

I used to think that Brit was the best anchor and toughest interviewer, but now I think that John Gibson is. He won't let a guest get away with not answering a question. He's very direct and can outshout the opposition.

I don't see what the hubbub was with with CC. I liked his reports, and thought he did a fair job with Francois.

If they are able to keep their personal views out of their coverage, I don't care what those views are. The problem with the MSM is WHAT they choose NOT to cover as much as HOW they cover what they do.
