There ought to be one day-- just one-- when there is open season on senators.

What does this say about Senator Specter? Specter isn't Catholic.

A poll released on the day of Cheney's appearance showed Specter up by 20 points, and yet Specter didn't have the time to help the top of his ticket, which was trailing by five that same day. Nor did Specter provide any help down-ticket. He didn't do any rallies or fundraisers with the embattled congressional candidates around the Keystone State.
It's time to return the favor and do the same for him.

Sphincter told BUSH no judges who would favor repeal of Roe V wade would pass "his" committee. Bush has saif nothing. I believe that Specter is a foil for BUSH and the GOP so that they can claim to be Pro Life while Specter stymies the judges needed for reversal. In essence he will facilitate the retention of "moderates" in the GOP and attract them "moderates" of the Degenerate Party, thus expanding the GOP's base. In essence we are being disenfranchised. Same with closing the Mexican Border, won't happen as the GOP is pandering for the Mexican vote (legal or illegal)
BTW where have you been while this thread has been on FR for three days, thius far? Day 4 coming up.

Bush and Santorum knew Specter was a snake when they picked him up. Maybe they thought he was a non-poisonous species. But now that he is rattling and hissing with fangs exposed, maybe the Republican majority in the Senate are bright enough to see that he must be de-fanged.

We'll never know if Pat Toomey would have won or not, but I think he was a strong candidate with considerable appeal to blue collar voters.
I said from the start that Specter can be absolutely relied on to let his side down in the crunch, and to vote wrong on the most important issues, and this article offers plenty more evidence that that is true. He takes and takes and gives nothing back.
He has the morals of a rat.

He's an obstructionist and a social liberal. We'll be fine without him.

We don't need him. We tried to tell our party leaders, but unfortunately they wouldn't listen. He has no qualms promoting a liberal social agenda, i.e. abortion, and will do anything to protect Roe vs. Wade.
