We Were Soldiers (2002)
Mel Gibson, Greg Kinnear, Madeleine Stowe, Sam Elliott
Rating: TV-14-V , CC
Friday, November 5th @ 9pm(ET)
In a place soon to be known as The Valley of Death, in a small clearing called landing zone X-Ray, Lt. Colonel Hal Moore (Mel Gibson) and 400 young fathers, husbands, brothers, and sons, all troopers from an elite American combat division, were surrounded by 2,000 North Vietnamese soldiers. The ensuing battle was one of the most savage in U.S. history. We Were Soldiers Once...And Young is a tribute to the nobility of those men under fire, their common acts of uncommon valor, and their loyalty to and love for one another.

make that 47% of the electorate - with Idaho it is 52% - 47%.....every W point stabs him with pain.....
someday I hope we will see those papers.....
Yep, that was the same part of the movie that I just lost it. It doesn't matter how many times I watch it either. This is going on today too. We need these reminders from time to time or I suppose some do. Are we worthy of the sacrifices made on our behalf by military families and soldiers?
We saw this movie the night we before we sent our son off to basic....buy the DVD....
Thank you
One of the very few movies I bought on DVD. Tissues are mandatory.
Ranks high on my list of reality war movies.Others are Saving Private Ryan,The Longest Day,10 hour Hanks & Sielberg,"Brotherhood of War" and a German movie,"Stalingrad"
All the books were great.Col.Moore & Hollaway wrote "We Were Soldiers".You ain't lived until you have read the story of 501 Easy Co.from Brotherhood of War.
Some of us are, some of us aren't, but that's OK.
In the end, each of us sacrifice for those we love. Be it the battlefield or what we do in everyday life. That's just the way it is, and should be.
