Details, details, we want details. I heard the "spread" had risen to 5 points, in favor of Bush, of course. Any numbers to back this up?

Only if we don't count Nader's votes that Bush can reach 52% and Kerry 47%. So, to reach that spread, at the end of the votes count, Bush has to add about 400 thousands (equals to Nader's) votes.

U.S. presidents are elected to four-year terms by 538 Electoral College voters, one per senator and representative from each state, plus three from the District of Columbia. In 38 states, the voters are required by law to vote for the candidate who won the popular voter in their state, although all electors usually cast a ballot for the popular vote winner. A candidate must receive a majority of 270 votes to win the election. I don't want to post a vanity to ask this, so I am tagging on yours. The above is a statement on the CNN website. I believed all of my adult life that the 538 = 535 members of Congress + 1 elector for DC, +1 elector for Puierto Rico, +1 elector for Guam. Am I nuts?

I laugh when some Democrat says 48 percent of America wanted Kerry to win. The voting age population is around 200 million and Kerry got about 56 million. That leaves about 144 million that either voted against him or were not interested. That's the perpective they can't understand.

what was Rush trying to say this afternoon about Ohio votes? Were more coming in for W or less. apparently the release was so obfuscated he had a tough time making sense of it on the fly.
