I used to think the left areas should be red for, well, you all know. Now, I think blue might be more appropriate. Take away oxygen, and you turn blue and make poor decisions before flat-lining. Well, most of these areas are Urban zones with poor air-quality.
Maybe President bush can continue to improve air-quality, thus turn more areas flushed with oxygenated freedom loving blood. :-) Wild theory, or am I on to something?
alternate theory, blue is what you turn when you get cold. The north is full of cold, frozen hearts....
</sarcasm>
Blue also represents brain death.
If you are a democrat at age 40, you
have no brain or you are braindead.
Something like that. That might acct
for some of that blue. OTOH, you are always
a loozer, thus you are blue!
bwahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahah

Blue is dense population areas. This is a result of a marketing strategy where as the dems felt they can get the most bang for their buck. Most TV stations originate in the Blue areas and thus, most advertising centers around those areas. To advertise in a red area means that you have less of an audience per dollar invested.
Basically, the Blue areas we can look at, have been systematically brainwashed against Conservative thinking by pounding money into the media of those markets.
This is one marketing example we need to learn from and take from the left. We can no longer let them define who we are!
Celebrate the fact that the best the democrats can offer is a rich, anti-war, New England Liberal Senator.
Look at the state of Illinois! Red but for Chicago.
"CODE BLUE" comes to mind.
Kind of like Pennsylvania. Only 13 of 67 counties in Pennsylvania went to Kerry.
On military maps, Red is for the Enemy, Blue is for Allies. Since these maps are drawn by the MSM, the reason is obvious.
How about "blue blood" which is a term that means membership in a noble or socially prominent family. The word "elite" has been used in much the same way. It seems to me that this cycle should settle the "rich Republican" debate. The Democrats we're seeing are the filthy rich and those who came to their riches with little effort. They are the blue bloods of history, and they are the blue bloods and blue blood wannabes of today.
>>>Look at the state of Illinois! Red but for Chicago.<<<
Unfortunately my county (Peoria) and most of them around me went blue. I stated before that if you follow the major water ways through this country, you'll see blue along the shores.
I swear their putting something in the water. ; )
The red covers more territory, but the blues insist they have more numbers in cities.
They don't realize that a big city is just like a small town. People group with likes, peers and those that share their beliefs. So when you look at it, you see groupings of like, not numbers of people.
So, for those that dismiss the volume of red counties, remember that a million small towns mean just as much as a million big cities.
Don't forget population of the Red Counties is 50% more than population of Blue Counties. Don't let them say all the people are in Blue Counties.
Public schools in big cities have a lot to do with the trend as well as they are indoctrinating students at all levels to a more liberal mindset.
That won't work with a big fat red ALASKA that's missing from your graphic ;)
If, as I've read, the 'Blues' separate from the 'Reds', they better depend on the UN to feed them.
Maybe the mold from all the humity causes brain damage or willingness to be manipulated. It must be the "smarter than humans" dolphins and their Green Pieces allies.
Does anyone have the map on 2000 election for a comparison?
Maybe I'm imagining things, but it looks like the blue areas got a wee bit larger.
You have a great point!
My brother pointed out that if you grow food, raise livestock or work the land in any way, you are a red state.
Maybe the blues have gotten to far away from the pioneer principles.
I still think we should be blue and dims red but alas its ingrained now.
