Dan Rather, the CBS anchor who is well past his sell-by date, was verging on losing it in the early morning hours of November 3. Ed Bradley had carried out a mathematical calculation that showed that George W. Bush needed only to obtain 15 per cent of Ohio’s absentee and provisional ballots to win the state and the presidency. A visibly upset Rather then came out with one of his famous Danisms--just because a chicken has wings, doesn’t mean it can fly.
In a poignant comment, Bradley defended himself by saying that he wasn’t making the math up--the figures came from Republicans in Ohio. This is what the mainstream media has degenerated into--a journalist forced to admit that he’s reporting something and not making it up.
The Dan just couldn’t bring himself to consider the possibility that George W. Bush could win Ohio and a second term. And when Rather next called upon Bradley, he introduced him as “Ed Bradley who is not a mathematics professor”. Bradley then piped up that he did in fact teach math at one point in his life.

Re#7 Me too. I almost wore out my remote trying to experience as much Schadenfreude as possible. Blather was hilarious with this pointer and map, flailing and blabbering on about all the different ways that Kerry could win, mixing up numbers and sounding confused and desparate. It was sweet....
I wonder how many of these corny cracks Blather used when he sat across the table from Saddam? Castro?
Will the real Dan Rather please stand up? The hack journalist we see on the news or the Jed Clampitt we see on election nights?
Did Rather really say those...? Since I did not watch Rather, I have no way of knowing.
When I heard Cronkite make that ridiculous statement about Karl Rove being responsible for the OBL tape I couldn't believe what I was hearing...
And to have the other idiot, Larry King let the comment slide like nothing was said only added to the absurdity!!!

The last three statements have not been verified, that doesn't mean they aren't the truth or wouldn't be something he might say however.... (Just using their own logic against them.)

What's worse, he was reading it off a script. I guess there is no real meaning to, "If a frog had pockets he'd carry a side arm".<<<
Dan got that one wrong anyway. It goes like this "If a frog had wings, it wouldn't be thumpin' it's butt on the ground", meaning, if dan rather were relevant, someone might tune in.
I was waiting for Ed to hit Dan with his purse. :oP
