Easy "Specter-No" Reference

Here are the numbers for Senate Republicans on the Judiciary Committee. If you want to take action on making sure Specter is not judiciary chairman, call your Republican senators. If you do not have a Republican senator, call Republicans on the Judicary Committee. They are:

Hatch (202) 224-5251 Grassley (202)224.3744 Kyl (202) 224-4521 DeWine (202) 224-2315 Sessions (202) 224-4124 Graham (202) 224-5972 Craig 202/224-2752 Chambliss (202) 224-3521 Cornyn 202-224-2934

Get your senator's phone number/e-mail from the directory at www.senate.gov.

Again, no need to bombard Frist. Every Republican senator votes on the leadership. Every Republican needs to hear that Americans do not want Arlen Specter determining who can and who cannot sit on the Supreme Court.

And remember, this is time-sensitive. I've been told Republicans could caucus on this as early as next week. And then, friends, we're stuck.

You're right! I need to write my senator and tell him what I think.... Lemme see... who's my Senator? I live in... hmmm... Pennsylvania....... I guess I should write to Arlen Specter and tell him not to vote for Arlen Specter for the Judiciary committee :-).....

But seriously--hopefully Santorum stops being Spector's lap dog. Spector didn't help Bush win PA. And I actually did vote for Arlen Spector, before I voted for Jim Clymer....

In all seriousness, I was thinking of voting for Hoeffel. I figured we'd keep our majority anyways, and I'd rather a junior democratic senator with no influence than an evil senior republican senator heading the judiciary...

Do we even want to stop this? We have our values mandate, and Specter has seen the writing on the wall and backtracked. I don't think we should get overzealous and start purging the RINOs that are willing to work with us. We need each other.

Arlen Specter voted against Bork. Laura Ingraham said 'GET HIM OUT.' We don't need any Republican Obstructionists.

Do we want to burn political capital for something that happened 20 years ago, or do we want to save it for overturning Roe v. Wade?

No, Specter really has to go. He owes his job to President Bush and this is how he repays Bush and the party? It would be better for the Republicans if Specter just became the Democrat is already (de facto) is. No way should he be judiciary chairman.

I just called every single one of these offices and got through to all but Graham (line was busy). I said, "I'm a Republican calling to say 'thumbs down' on Arlen Specter as judiciary chairman." One office said, "I'll add you to the list". Freepers, I know we're all weary after Tuesday, but please make these calls!

I just emailed Senators Brownback and Roberts and asked them to dall they could to prevent Senator Specter from becoming head of the Judiciary Committee.

Yep, I called him too...he's my Senator and I let him (his staff) know my feelings.

Specter is too beholden to liberal special interests, especially unions and the abortion lobby. He simply can NOT be trusted with the Judicial nominations process. It's too important.

Remember, that those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. What he did to Bork, he will do again if he is permitted to. How many amazingly qualified conservative jurists must we lose to this RINO who is attempting to curry favor with the NYT editorial page?

Specter thinks that he is going to preserve his "legacy" by beating back the conservative wing of the Republican party on judges. We do not need people like him in a position to affect in ANY way the process of voting on the President's nominees.

My e-mail to Sen. Chuck Hagel:

Sen. Hagel,

I have recently become concerned about the upcoming nomination of Sen. Arlen Specter as chairman of the Judiciary Committee. I was of course upset when I heard the first reports of Sen. Specter's remarks and ideas on who is a fit nominee for the courts. I understand that he has in fact "retracted" some of those statements, but he has not given me any confidence in his leadership abilities on such important issues. After our clear and convincing win in this last election it would be a shame to see our party back down and fail to rise to the Mandate that the people have given us.

So as to not seem to be just complaining and offering no solutions to the afore mentioned complaint I wholeheartedly suggest that Sen. Chuck Grassley would be an excellent choice if he decides to give up his post as chairman of the Senate Finance Committee for the greater good of the American people and our party.

Respectfully, you’re constituent

Call them all and call lib senators and remind them we sent DashHOLE out to pasture for his obstructionism. I've already begun calling and Hatch & Grassley's offices say they're getting some calls already. We did not vote for a blue state judiciary. We are outraged by Speckieboy's litmus test threat against our fine President.
