Well, what a bunch of bullcookies here. These fools actually think that their arrogant whining is impressive.

I don't think this election happened because America hates Democrats, it's because they hate internationalists, socialists, nuanced-bombastic-fake religious a'holes & elitist d'heads that tell them they know better than they do. It matters very little what party affiliation; indeed the liberal elite used to be all Republican.

It is clear that these dopes need more losses to get thier attention.

She not only can't remember history, she can't even see the present: Kansas went for Bush by a bigger percentage margin than Quantrill's Missouri did. The descendants of the abolitionists who came to Kansas to ensure it would be a free state aren't confined to Lawrence or Douglas County. Manhattan, too was founded by abolitionists. There are towns in southwest Kansas founded as refuges for escaped slaves. But, say it again: Kansas went for Bush by a bigger percentage margin than Quantrill's Missouri did.

In fact, Douglas County isn't leftist on account of its abolitionist past, it's leftist because of academics imported from the coasts since its only major industry is the University of Kansas.

BTW is there some way to send e-mail to Slate? I can't find anything except their forum 'The Fray' that requires one to join MSN.

((Case in point: WELFARE REFORM. The left constantly ignored the devastation to precisely those segments of the population they wanted to "help". The governement dole combined with DISINCENTIVES to work, to remain or become monogamous, destroyed the welfare family, extracted their very dignity, and caused them to remain in poverty and psychological misery.))

Ah, but if your goal is maintaining power and control, it is helpful to have an entire class of citizens enslaved and dependent upon your generosity. Liberals preach "human rights" but they are actually modern slave holders. They are totalitarians in drag.

They still don't get it, do they?

But watch what they do, not what they say.

Bill Clinton won because he took the then new tack of out right lying to the American people. He got away with it because the press covered for him.

The Dims got it. Look at the current campaign. Everything about it was a lie. Everything.

They didn't get away with it because of us, the blogs, the other Pajama People, and because sKerry was no where in the same league as Clinton when it comes to lying.

Had the MSM been even slightly truthful about what Kerry was really about, he would have been a fringe candidate like LaRouche or David Duke.

They are predatory and resentful, amoral, avaricious, and arrogant

She thinks she is describing Bush and Cheney. But that sounds like a perfect description of Michael Moore to me.

Anyone shocked to see a Liberal elitist think those that disageee with them are ignorant? Or, to see a liberal focus solely on fixing the blame and giving no attention to the actual problem?

I think that a t-shirt with that county map with the slogan "Better RED than dead

Good idea. I've made the "county map" my desktop background. It makes me smile.

I will tell you why I hate Dems (now).

They are so bigoted about what a 'conservative' is, that when they are in a group of their peers--professional, interests, classes, message boards, list serves whatever...

They arrogantly assume that because you are like them, you are LIKE THEM.

I can't count the number of times a Lib as gone into a rant about the evils of conservatives and Republicans in a group or on the Internet assuming we all agree.

HOW RUDE! Then they look like they have been slapped by a fish when they are informed that they are in the minority in their beliefs!

It's clearly because I'm not married to my cousin, not thumping a bible, I can read, I'm not missing 50% of my teeth, I'm not using the N word in every sentence, and I don't have a car up on blocks in my yard, that I must be I surely, SURELY liberal like them.

And they call US ignorant! How unbelievably arrogant, stupid, STUPID and rude!

And don't get me started on how they talk the talk, but don't wanna mess up their Birkenstocks walkin' the walk. "You don't want to save a tribe in lower Chilgentina!?!" "Tell ya what, I will give to that tribe when you volunteer at my hospital on a weekly basis" (End of discussion at that point)

~sigh~To quote my granny "Their mamas didn't raise'em right."

Oh, while I don't have a car on blocks, I do have a toilet on my front porch, but it will be gone next week when the contractor finishes. ;)

If you democrats keep thinking that way, you are NEVER going to connect with the salt of the earth in the USA who are a lot SMARTER than you think. You all need to take a good long look at yourselves and quit being convinced that you know what is good for people. If you want to govern in a representative-style country, you've got to understand and respect those you want to represent. Obviously, Democrats don't understand and respect the American people, thus, they don't get elected. And don't kid yourselves that evengelicals were the only reason the Democrats lost. The Democrats are out of touch with the majority of voters, and the majority are not all evangelicals. On the other hand, if you Democrats want to keep on thinking that the good solid majority of American voters that reelected George Bush resoundingly and kicked Daschle out of office too are stupid, deluded, hoodwinked and Bible thumpers, it will make it all the easier for Republicans to keep on winning, so, go for it.

Here is how ignorance works: First, they put the fear of God into you—if you don't believe in the literal word of the Bible, you will burn in hell. Of course, the literal word of the Bible is tremendously contradictory, and so you must abdicate all critical thinking, and accept a simple but logical system of belief that is dangerous to question. A corollary to this point is that they make sure you understand that Satan resides in the toils and snares of complex thought and so it is best not try it.

This woman wouldn't recognize a real thought if it smacked her in the butt.

Cordially,

The Dems, in desperate search of love where there is none, outside of God, that is, and in the UN.

"We're smart, they're stupid" is what cost Kerry the election.

After the gloating wears off (I know, it's a great feeling!), we need to get down to the hard work. First and foremost is to finish off the MSM; second is to further weaken the Dems so that we can get 60+ senate seats in 2006.

Q: how do we utilize the Dem's "we're smart, they're stupid" mentality to achieve these objectives? This should really be the focus of some hard thinking. How could FR be structured to pull this off?

I read the whold thing thinking that it was a rather poor attempt at satire untill the final paragraph when I realized Ms. Smiley was....serious. That 50 year-old Vasser grad turned novelist shouldn't combine her fiction writing with political columns.

Ignorance and bloodlust have a long tradition in the United States, especially in the red states.

I mean, how could anyone take her seriously after that early statement? This woman is mad, really mad at 58 million people. LOL! It's all our fault, us ignorant bloodlusters.

I’d like to see a study of per-capita welfare / assistance payments / WIC /etc. dollars going to blue counties vs. red counties.

Ever seen such a study?

CB^?

I suppose the good news is that 55 million Americans have evaded the ignorance-inducing machine. But 58 million have not. (Well, almost 58 million—my relatives are not ignorant, they are just greedy and full of classic Republican feelings of superiority.

I wonder what you'd say if Skerry had won the election?
