The combat hospital on the chief U.S. base near Fallujah has set up a morgue and doubled medical staff and supplies in preparation for an expected stream of casualties from an anticipated assault on the rebel stronghold.
''We've had 20 to 30 casualties on a given day here. We expect maybe double that on a serious day. And we can handle them,'' Capt. Eric Lovell, a Navy doctor, said Thursday at the base hospital, a low concrete building announced by a sign saying ''Cheaters of Death.''
The hospital added a Marine Mortuary Affairs team last month, a unit charged with identifying dead troops, cataloguing their personal effects and preparing their bodies for the flight to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.
The morgue team counts 16 reservists trained in handling corpses of U.S. troops as well as Iraqi civilians and fighters that arrive at the hospital here, said Commander Lach Noyes, a Navy surgeon. The morgue team also travels to bomb scenes to recover body parts and corpses that need to be extracted from vehicles, Noyes said.

No. I'm weary of this "Nuke/MOAB everyone!!" approach. It's been argued ad nauseam. And yes, sarcasm was dripping from my post.
One thing is clear: we need to make an example out of Fallujah.
I just don't want to see even ONE American casualty as we do this.

Last night I read that Arab reporters were getting out of Fallujah - I wonder how many of those were actually terrorists.
Prayer heavenward for our brave military <>
God bless and protect our heros. And their families.

Good men are going into harms way and good men are going to die; the fact that we will win is not in doubt. Our soldiers will be victorious in battle.
The only campaign that remains to be fought is the battle here, on the home front with those who cannot see and will not ever understand why our fathers and sons prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice.
They dont want to understand, all that matters to them is themselves. they dont want to admit that others have to fight to give them the freedoms they enjoy. Everything must be handed to them on a silver platter by the sweat of others.
My nerves are a mess over this, I know we are going to lose soldiers, it may not be my son but it will be somebodies son and we will all feel the pain.
LOL!
Your last line: Don't even go there.
She's obviously rattled you, so I think you should take the rest of the day off.
Glad to find out she was escorted out of the building - these types usually develop into full-blown domestic terrorists because they never learned the word "no".
My husband had a lib some completely unglued on the phone. It was the "trailer-trash, stooopid Southerners with low IQ's that re-elected Bush" rant. Breathtaking and took husband completely by surprise about this guy.

FNC said that women and children are being allowed; nay, encouraged, to leave Fallujah. Men are being IDd and detained.
All roads sealed.
Friendly press kicked out of Fallujah days ago.
Yup, sounds like the Interim Iraqi Government is going to have to rebuild a city from the ground up.
The story indicated that the terrorists kicked out the newsies because they wouldn't broadcast the terrorists' doctored videos of dead civilians.
Al-Jazeera was not one of the networks kicked out. That should tell you something.
God bless the proud fighters for freedom and liberty, both Americans and all their allies (INCLUDING IRAQIs)
Good grief...or good riddance?
I wonder where Ollie is today?
Sounds like this offensive is being planned very well indictating a MAJOR offensive.
