The combat hospital on the chief U.S. base near Fallujah has set up a morgue and doubled medical staff and supplies in preparation for an expected stream of casualties from an anticipated assault on the rebel stronghold.
''We've had 20 to 30 casualties on a given day here. We expect maybe double that on a serious day. And we can handle them,'' Capt. Eric Lovell, a Navy doctor, said Thursday at the base hospital, a low concrete building announced by a sign saying ''Cheaters of Death.''
The hospital added a Marine Mortuary Affairs team last month, a unit charged with identifying dead troops, cataloguing their personal effects and preparing their bodies for the flight to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.
The morgue team counts 16 reservists trained in handling corpses of U.S. troops as well as Iraqi civilians and fighters that arrive at the hospital here, said Commander Lach Noyes, a Navy surgeon. The morgue team also travels to bomb scenes to recover body parts and corpses that need to be extracted from vehicles, Noyes said.

We watched the troops enter Iraq and Bagdad; it would be interesting to watch them in this.
I am in favor of embedding at least one hundred reporters with the bad guys so we can get accurate reporting.;~)

The ELECTION had to take a little of the resolve out of the insurgents. We need to clamp down with a 20 hour a day curfew, and then take the city block by block if necessary. Mosques are legitimate targets -- those that hide there are not real muslims. IDs for all men under 45. Fallujah delenda est. Again.
Check BBC they are now showing good live pictures for the preparation and say that they are waiting to Go.

I agree completely and we would probably have zero casualties in this operation. They the terrorists would not hesitate to drop them on us. We need to stop fighting that kinder/gentler war concept. The time has come to turn the screws on those camel pedophiles.
Yeah, I got into it with a lefty yesterday at work, quite by accident. When he claimed that there was no proof that Iraq supported terrorism, I knew there was no middle ground and I needed to disengage. Still took five more minutes to slowly back away far enough that I could safely suddenly run like hell.
I want to give props to FR though -- before I decided to disengage we were fighting like jedi warriors with light sabers. Every claim he made I was able to counter. Then he'd change the subject or change tactics. Poste, Riposte. It was just like on TV!

They need to have a morgue - we are going to kill massive amounts of their people and they have to be buried in like 24 hours according to Muslim law. We can't let them rot and make the survivors do it.

If you are being sarcastic, please explain to me why we need risk even one hero's life for these sub-human creatures when we have the capability to deal with this situation much like the Romans dealt with Carthage?
