Rendell Speaks... MSM Listens
NewsMax

Posted on 11/05/2004 1:56:40 AM PST by joeystoy

According to Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, it wasn't the evangelical vote, or Karl Rove's brilliant strategizing, or Osama bin Laden's last-minute endorsement that kicked the legs out from under John Kerry's presidential campaign.

Asked Thursday what brought Kerry down, the former Democratic National Committee chairman blamed The Swiftboat Veterans and POWs for Truth.

"First of all, I think we lost all of our momentum when we didn't respond quickly to the Swift Boat attacks," Rendell told NBC "Today Show" host Katie Couric. "How ludicrous is it that we had a legitimate war hero running against someone who didn't serve in Vietnam and that that became a liability for us." That happened, said Rendell, because we temporized and we didn't strike back quickly."

He also credited the fact that the U.S. hadn't been attacked by terrorists since 9/11, calling it Bush's "ace in the hole."

He doesn't explain how Karl Rove conspired with UBL to hold off on terrorist attacks until after the election.

And we got stuck with this stupid liberal as our governor. He is a part of the "just don't get it crowd". All they know is how to steal honest voters votes.

I sure hope the country will make a effort to devise a new voting system were there it is no way for voter fraud and less error prone and to make it standardized all across the USA. Once we have a more efficient, error less , fraud less system, it looks like the dems will continue to lose elections until they get with the program with the rest of America, and they get honest.

If anything, a 3rd party will continue to split the democratic party,,, Shhhhh ,, don't tell them.
The Republicans have a stronger base, more loyal base than the DEMS.
BUSH's base was sure and true, and we are not BRAINWASHED by the MSM.

PUT THE STAKE IN THIS VAMPIRE ONCE AND FOR ALL!

Perfect analogy! I agree. They're going to do as they always do and turn it around, as you stated "Bush traitor, kerry hero." We know they will continue to trash the SBVs and use it as a club against Pres. Bush and Republican party.

We definitely need to stay on top of this and expose kerry for the traitor he is.

How ludicrous is it that we had a legitimate and genuine traitor and coward running as a "legitimate war hero".

The real question is: "How the heck did a traitor get so close to winning"?

Give 'em time. I read where some are blaming Rove for the exit poll numbers fiasco.

Katie Couric. "How ludicrous is it that we had a legitimate war hero...

Katie, honey, your side told us for 30 years that Vietnam was a "criminal" war and now you call Kerry a "legitimate war hero". What a joke. If the Republican candidate had served in Vietnam you would have called him a war criminal.

P.S. Did she really forget to pretend to be neutral and say "...WE had legitimate war hero..."

I must say this is getting really entertaining.

All the mudslinging, name calling, and blame game is reaching a crisis of "Biblical" proportions (pun intended).

I just happened to peek over at DU, they've divided into factions, even pro and anti-gay factions. It's hysterical.
They have a forum for "the angry" and for those that need "consolation." They also have conspiracy theories that should be featured on the Art Bell show.

Can't wait till Terry McAuliffe shows his face...who will he blame for Kerry's defeat?

I could not agree with you more. All efforts must be made to get Kerry's true military records opened for public viewing, The MSM was complicit in propping up this fraud of a "military hero" and it's imperative that the well intentioned people who voted for Kerry understand that they were mislead.

I have never seen a more vindictive, angry, foul-mouthed bunch of people tied into knots with their hatred. And that was the "Help and Support" forum. I didn't even go into the "Fighting and Acrimony" forum.

Give 'em time. I read where some are blaming Rove for the exit poll numbers fiasco.

Walter Cronkite claimed that Karl Rove was behind the pre-election Osama Bin Laden video.

My opinion about the exit polls is that

1. Republicans are more likely to say "get bent" to a pollster.
2. Pollsters intentionally skewed their sample (60+% women in the initial poll)
3. Dems found out at which precincts the pollsters were and intentionally over represented their numbers so they could claim vote fraud when the vote count didn't match the exit polls.

It was a lot of the things that cost Kerry the election, mainly Kerry being Kerry but the Swifties do have to get a lot of credit. We love you Swifties--for what you did long ago and for what you did today.

Hope springs eternal my friend. If we, here in Blue Maryland can get a Republican for governor, you can surely turn the tide.

"..the former Democratic National Committee chairman blamed The Swiftboat Veterans and POWs for Truth."

Boy, I hope so. I've never felt better about contributing to a cause in my life. Every time a scumbag like Tad Devine or Terry McAwful would unload on the Swift Boat Vets I felt compelled to make another donation.

Hey, there is nothing to stop 527s from continuing to operate after the election. Let's encourage and help fund the SBVs, etc to go after Rendell and others of his ilk who want to reinvent history to their personal advantage. If enough focus is placed on these rascals, they may conclude that it is better for them to "out" Kerry than to continue to provide cover for him.

Example: Run a commercial every so often that shows the Rendell interview and ends with "Governor Rendell, stop trying to divide this nation with your unsubstantiated claims. End this debate by urging John Kerry to release all of his military records!"

As the Dems attempt to scapegoat the Bush's victory, let's make it easy for them. I can hear Rendell now: "My God, Kerry misled all of us about his war record! No wonder we lost!!"
