I must be dreaming.
It can't possibly be true that a majority of Americans do, in fact, respect traditional values.
It can't possibly be true that a majority of Americans understand that we face a determined enemy who believes it is God's will that they destroy or dominate those who don't share their vision of a 7th century world ruled by the sword, an enemy who will not simply go away or leave us alone if we just change our policies towards the middle east and the state or Israel, an enemy we will fight, somewhere, on someone's timeframe; it can't possibly be that a majority of Americans would rather fight this enemy in their backyard, on our timeframe; it can't possibly be the case that a majority of Americans do have the backbone and resolve required to achieve victory in this fight. It can't possibly be the case that a majority of Americans understand that it's not enough to be against everything, that you have to be for, something. It can't possibly be the case that a majority of Americans don't beleive that The President misled the country into into a war with Iraq in order to enrich Haliburton, Dick Cheney, Ken Lay, the Carlyle Group and others. It can't possibly be the case that a majority of Americans don't believe that America must obtain permission from a third party before taking action to protect its national interests.
Or can it?
Wait, no, I'm not dreaming after all; it turns out that Hollywood does not represent the soul of America; it turns out that in spite of a mainstream media empire dominated by the "leftist elite", in spite of the obscene amount of $$$ poured into the electoral process by the likes of George Soros, Harold Ikes and more so-called 527 groups than you can shake a stick at, a majority of Americans do understand. It turns out a majority of Americans are able to filter all the garbage and come to a rational decision.
It turns out I'm not dreaming at all; it turns out a majority of Americans are not "quite possibly the stupidest people on the planet."
It turns out a majority of Americans are actually able to withstand an uprecedented onslaught of spin, distortion and misinformation from a wide variety of sources too numerous to list.
It turns out a majority of Americans are as smart as I've given them credit for; it turns out I'm left with a renewed faith and confidence in the wisdom of a majority of the American people, and a renewed determination to defeat the forces on the left which would defeat America from within.
We did it!
Welcome to Free Republic!
yup. deep breath.
Welcome to FR.
Regardless of what the "polls" said, moral values is what the media is focusing on because they want to shift from the WOT and Iraq. Security WAS the biggest issue! They cannot face the fact that their months of saying Bush "lied" about WMDs, Iraq is a mess, This is a Quagmire, etc WAS IGNORED BY 60 MILLION PEOPLE!!
DON'T BELIEVE THE SPIN!!!
New here are you? Howdy!
Welcome to FR.
I figured that Bruce Springsteen and similar musicians stumping for Kerry would lose the election for him.
Who wants to be preached at from the stage?
I don't, and no-one I know does either.
*chuckle*
Hopefully they figure it out and understand that the message is "Shut up and sing."
And it IS rather refreshing to see that the everyday joe USA is not flamingly liberal.
;-)
in spite of the obscene amount of $$$ poured into the electoral process by the likes of George Soros,
And isn't it great that The Swift Boat Vets with waaaay less money made such an impact on their agenda.
Tell me about it. The media didn't take long to start "blaming" Bush's victory on all those "bible thumping rednecks"...nevermind the fact that Bush increased his vote with women (there was no gender gap whatsoever), blacks, hispanics, Catholics, Jews, etc., etc.
They based all of this on CNN's exit polls (the ones that aren't complete bunk) that showed how moral values was the number one issue with something like 24% of voters...yet terrorism was second, and Iraq third, so you combine Iraq and terrorism (which is the truth, don't let liberals convince you otherwise), and the Iraq/terrorism question was in fact the number one issue on the minds of voters.
Hope you managed to follow that logic, I am deservedly an unpaid hack.
Welcome to FR
Bush did not run on moral issues. He ran on the war on terror and economic issues. Once in a while in a stump speech, he would mentioned that he supported the traditional definition of marriage and usually in the context that he would not appoint activitist judges who usurp the power of state legislatures and the will of the voters.
Yet the scoop is that he was elected on moral issues. The MSM thinks it's better to pin Kerry's defeat on that rather than fact the fact that the majority of voters have not forgotten the message of 9/11 and support going on the offense in the WOT.
"moral values" is just code for "no lying media" ;-)
Amen and Welcome to the FRee REpublic.
I have a question.. Have the doom and gloomers ever came back since the election?
Well written!
Amen indeed. Thank Almighty God for the great victory on Tuesday. I've never prayed harder for anything in my life.
In view of W's re-election, here's a neat link. I had to sit and watch it twice. For anyone with dial-up, it takes awhile. Be patient.

It was a site to see and read on the FR boards leading up to and after the elections. The prayer warriors here were in overdrive and I think every FReeper was on their knees when they weren't GOTV, making calls, walking precincts, passing out Bush/Cheney stickers or FReepin'
K4
I know what you mean, I have pinch myself to make sure I am not dreaming.
This Bush victory is one of the best experiences in my life!
Indeed, I have been praying for four years, and this is no time to slack off; now that you got a tast of desperate prayers, keep it up. We need to support our President and assure that the evil woman will not have success in trying to become presidenta! I am too, totally surprised to discover that Americans at large feel like I do concerning moral issues, what a joy! Indeed the media and bullywood are irrelevant and should be kept outside of our minds, homes and especially far from the younger generations. Let's enjoy this victory from on high - HalleluYAH!
"Hope you managed to follow that logic"
LOL, it's not tough when we're on the same page :)
