Coulter: One last flip-flop
TownHall.com ^ | November 4, 2004 | Ann Coulter

Of course, we could have done it a lot earlier on election night but for "Boy Genius" Karl Rove. It's absurd that the election was as close as it was. If Rove is "the architect" – as Bush called him in his acceptance speech – then he is the architect of high TV ratings, not a Republican victory.

I'm a fan of Ann's too...but we need her to attack the other side...I've seen her get on McCain and O'Reilly in the past few months..we can have beefs with each other, but the whole "less than.." arguement against your own side is counter-productive, especially with all the skill she has to go after the opposition...

We don't need a purifying movement on our side, Ann. We got the power now, it's even more of a reason to stick it to them than usual...

In my opinion it was Iraq that made winning this election tough for the president. Add to that George Soros money, the high price of gas, the job losses albeit, not the president's fault, the mainstream media, so many things the president had working against him, but in the end, I am thankful he prevailed.

Sorry about that. I did a search on Coulter and Rove, but did not see the previous post.

Ann has a point. Conservative issues win, and Republican politicians should espouse them. Look how angry we all where when Bush said he would sign the Assault Weapons Ban extension. We knew it was the wrong position both morally and politically. Gay marriage and partial birth abortion are the same. Did Bush really say that he supports civil unions? That's pretty shocking.

It is a bit early to start grousing, though. Let's leave that to the losers.

Also, I believe that if Bush had given the type of proformance I know he can in the first debate he would have won this election by 7-8%. The first debate hurt him alot.

I was a Rove detractor, but no more.

He is a genius.

With the full force of the MSM, LLL, Soros, France, the U.N., Islamofascists all throwing everything they could at him, he still got President Bush reelected, with a majority of the popular vote, and increased the G.O.P. Senate margin by four, and increased the G.O.P. House margin by four, and increased the G.O.P. share of numerous demographic groups, most notably Hispanics, and put Tom Daschle out to pasture.

But, most importantly, he marginalized the Democrats for a generation.

The man is a genius.

Totally. Considering the circumstances, Micheal Moore film, anti-Bush books, slander media bias, Bush won quite handily!

Personally, I don't see how Rove could have forced the MSM to provide air time to rebut the pro-Kerry 527s the way they were more than willing to do against the SBVs.

Ann is looking toward the next election, and she is right. Rush has argued for years that the moral issues are winning issues -- and that Republicans should run on them and not from them. We must not learn the wrong lessons from this close election, or we'll slide back into the party Democrat Light. The celebration is over, and it is time to prepare for the next battles...

I'll have to take responsibility for this, and apologize to everyone for Ann's writing this way. We haven't seen each other in a while and she really misses me, so her mind is not focussed on her work. You will know when we are seeing each other again when she goes back to her normal strong writing style. Thank you.

Bravo to Ann!!!

Once again she's cut to the chase.

Karl Rove is receiving credit that should go to grassroots Christian organizations who worked hard to educate voters and provide voter guides. (Groups like Focus on the Family, Family Research Council, Concerned Women for America, American Family Association, Center for Reclaiming America, etc. etc. etc.)

Like it or not folks, Ann is right. We squeaked by on this one solely because Christians turned out in record numbers and Karl Rove had precious little to do with it.

You Christians failing to recognize this are sending the wrong message to Washington.

That's an odd thing for Ann to say. Now, since we've conquered our enemies, we can finally turn on each other in peace.

Ann's right (no pun intended). About the time they called Pennsylvania for Kerry I think we'd all have to admit to high pucker factor. Hope the GOP can keep up the pressure on the upper midwest states, and maybe even exorcise the ghost of Old Man Daley and turn Illinois from blue to red.

She's right. If Rudy or Pataki are picked to be our next Presidential candidate, all hope is lost. We don't need to draft Ron Paul, the uberconservative, but we do need someone who is not a wishy-washy, liberal puke like Pataki or Rudy (even though he is a good man, while Pataki is not).
