GOP victories have potential to marginalize Republican moderates (Sen Chafee may switch to Dems)

"Regrettably, we have seen an erosion in the Senate of centrists on both sides of the aisle," said Sen. Olympia J. Snowe of Maine, a Republican moderate whose leverage may drop substantially in the next Congress. She said she hoped Bush will push for cooperation between the two parties.

Another GOP moderate, Sen. Lincoln D. Chafee (R.I.), expressed even deeper disappointment, telling the Providence Journal he would not rule out switching to the Democratic Party.

Good riddence. Chafee realizes that Frist is no longer subject to extortion in order to secure the all-important 51st vote, so he may cut a better deal with the Dems in exchange for jumping ship

Another in a long list of irrelevant Americans. Let him join the likes of Alec Baldwin, Larry Flynt, Barbra Streisand, Jim Jeffords and PeeWee Herman.

Yah. It was necessary to have him while the margin was so thin, but let's get all this garbage cleared out and know who our friends are NOW.

Chafee is not a moderate, he is a liberal. I wouldn't wait for him to switch, I'd kick him out of the Caucus. Now THAT would send a message to the other RINOs that they'd better get with the program.

Chafee, looking for attention. He'll be a perfect member of the liberal party. Smoke and mirrors.

The Republicans should expel him before he can quit. Make an example of him.

Bump. The social conservatives finally came out and voted.

Their voices will no longer be tuned out.

I hope the other members of the Senate take a good hard look at the Northeast and all the wasted federal aid up here. For example, the Big Dig had an estimated cost of $3.7 billion and we were told it would be completed in 4 years. It's now over $10 billion over cost and 7 years behind schedule. Both the bridge and the tunnel are of substandard construction, the latter is leaking even though it has been open less than a year. The Big Dig is a typical project up here.

It's time to cut off the money flowing to NYC, Boston, Filthadelphia and other corrupt locations where it is used to buy votes.

I’ve said it for a while now, that once we secured a large enough majority in Congress we needed to just throw out of the party the likes of these coat-closet libs, don’t wait for them to switch just toss’em out like the trash they are!

Good flippin riddance!!!

Don't be shocked if we are courting a few demonrats to jump ship to our side. It will surprise the liberals...but I can think of two at least that may come over to our side. Lieberman and that Florida Sen...Nelson ?

No kidding, Boss.

I catch any of those RINOs, they're going straight to the Mithril Pits. Moria always needs more miners.
