Bush and Breslin: Reasons to cry Michael Mayo

November 4, 2004

A nation of self-righteous bullies got what it deserved on Wednesday. Another term of Bush. No more Breslin. The little guy is dead in America.

Now I don't know what to think. I climbed a staircase Wednesday in honor of Jimmy Breslin's abrupt retirement from regular newspaper writing.

I grew up reading him, never met him. He started in sports and never quit loving underdogs. Every sportswriter knows the better story is always in the losing locker room. There'll be plenty of losing stories the next four years. Maybe some will even get written.

Comfort the comfortable and afflict the afflicted. That's the new American way. If you're unlucky enough to have to work or fight for a living, if you're unlucky enough to be an 18- to 26-year-old, good luck these next four years.

"The little guy is dead in America."

If you mean the little guy represented by the likes of a Massachusetts elitist, Michael Moore or the Hollywood elite...well, that little guy is doing fine. He woke up to the fact that you people aren't like him and have only been using him for years. It's save to say, he's actually doing better today...and he knows it.

He's a complete idiot. I love to read his column when he's "suffering." He needs to go back to the sports section where nothing important happens. I'm formulating some rude emails to him and that clown Buddy Nevins as part of my Get Out The Gloat (not my term) campaign. I've decided to be a bad winner for a while....

He must be a zombie, then, because he sure got out to the polls to vote for Bush!

The article says, "At the elections warehouse, I wonder about Florida's vote total. How does Bush win by 537 votes in 2000 and 350,000 this time? It does not compute."

Geez, maybe the people in the panhandle actually got to vote . . . . maybe the partisans who counted and re-counted the ballots in 2000 didn't get a chance to play with the results . . . . maybe poll watchers resulted in less fraud in the democrat areas of the state . . . maybe Florida didn't have entire bags of ballots mysteriously appear. Did this kook sleep through the entire 2000 election and the re-count process?????

Breslin's last column included a GUARANTEE that Kerry would win. Yeah, now that's some thoughtful insight from the working man's social genius. Don't know how we will do without such brilliance. Oh well, we still have Hunter S. Thompson.

...if you're unlucky enough to be an 18- to 26-year-old, good luck these next four years.

It's such a burden to be at the top physical condition of your life, to have the most energy you will ever have, to have so many career and life choices ahead of you, and to live in an impoverished, blighted place like the USA instead of a paradise like Sudan.

18- to 26-year-old Americans. You poor devils.

"Comfort the comfortable and afflict the afflicted"

Pure and utter bullshit filtered through the leftist editors at the Scum Sentinel. A few months ago Mayo made it to the front page of the SS by exploiting the grief of the family of a Marine killed in Iraq. A sympathetic story, respectful to all, could have been very moving. Instead, Mayo-malaise used the family's grief to promote his warped political agenda.
