Grandpa, I am shaking with anger.....not 1 minute ago, my 8th grade daughter proceeded to tell me that her Language Arts teacher told her class today that "the entire world is laughing at America for reelecting Bush", she also told them that "Bill Clinton was a genius". My daughter said the teacher also showed the class the UK "Daily Mirror" cover (we live in rural Illinois), asking "how can 54,054,087 people be so dumb?", and told the class she was going to put it on her car. What do I do about this!??

I would contact the principal, the school superintendent, and the school board. Document what you say to them, and what they say to you. Get names, dates and times.

Then contact your local TV station and your hometown newspaper.

Thanks for the response. I wish we had homeschooled them, but they are too old now.......(one in HS). They would hate us if we took them out now. We are raising them to be right thinking people....in fact our son stayed up very late on election night, fervently hoping for a Bush win. I do plan on speaking to the principal, and making it CLEAR that we do not want this teacher talking politics to our daughter. How dare she!?

If the principal refuses to punish the teacher, you may want to post a thread here detailing what happened, and include the phone number of the school. Bad publicity terrifies public school employees.

No, the local radio station is a CBS affiliate, and leans left. This is a small town with a lot of union members.
