Senator Charles Schumer says fellow New York Democratic Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton is the front-runner for the party's 2008 presidential nomination.
But Schumer attributes that to "other people speculating" about the former first lady's future plans. Schumer says he believes Clinton's focus remains on serving New York in the US Senate.
There's speculation that she could be a major contender for the 2008 nomination. Before that, she'll face re-election for her Senate seat in 2006.
Schumer's comments were made this morning at an Albany supermarket as he began the second day of a three-day tour across the state to thank voters for his record-setting re-election victory on Tuesday.
Schumer is refusing to address speculation he'll use the re-election win as a stepping stone to running for governor in 2006.
Yah, she wants a political carrear. But calling Hillary and Rudy similar is the most simple minded and insulting thing I've ever heard. It is only true if you are a single issue abortion person.
Read his book 'Leadership', and read up on Hillary, and then tell me they are similar. You can't.
