Senator Charles Schumer says fellow New York Democratic Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton is the front-runner for the party's 2008 presidential nomination.
But Schumer attributes that to "other people speculating" about the former first lady's future plans. Schumer says he believes Clinton's focus remains on serving New York in the US Senate.
There's speculation that she could be a major contender for the 2008 nomination. Before that, she'll face re-election for her Senate seat in 2006.
Schumer's comments were made this morning at an Albany supermarket as he began the second day of a three-day tour across the state to thank voters for his record-setting re-election victory on Tuesday.
Schumer is refusing to address speculation he'll use the re-election win as a stepping stone to running for governor in 2006.

well.....as a resident of this lovely (albeit blue) state - Schumer is an extremely frontline guy (no I didnt vote for him) - but he's going to be a tough one to beat because he is all over this state, and expresses what is percieved as a genuine concern
That being the case - he could be the next Gov as Pataki is bound by the unholy trinity we have in Bruno and Silver
Hillary on the other hand is never seen or heard from...........and thats just fine with me

über-Control-Freaks' Section ALWAYS REMEMBER what this super- bitch tries to do: Sneering Arrogance Dept."Let them eat cake" "The ['Hillary Care'] plan prescribed some eye popping maximum fines: $5,000 for refusing to join the government mandated health plan; $5,000 for failing to pay premiums on time; 15 years in prison for doctors who received anything of value in exchange for helping patients short circuit bureaucracy; $10,000 a day for faulty physician paperwork; and $50,000 for unauthorized patient treatment. When told the plan could bankrupt small businesses, Mrs. Clinton said, 'I cant be responsible for every under-capitalized small business in America'." -- Tony Snow reporting on Hillary's health care plan, to which Zoh Hieronimus added, "Perhaps Hillarys legacy will be that she made fascism seem lady-like." "I'm not going to have some reporters pawing through our papers. We are the president!" -- Hillary Clinton
"Our liberties face a far greater threat from Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party than from Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden. I am not saying that for impact; I believe that to the core of my being." -- Neal Boortz

"We need to stop worrying about the rights of the individual and start worrying about what is best for society!" -- Hillary Clinton "...we understand only the individual's capacity to make sacrifices for the community, for his fellow men." -- Adolf Hitler "The higher interests involved in the life of the whole must here set the limits and lay down the duties of the interests of the individual." -- Adolph Hitler

Yeah, I said fascists. Its about damned time that someone start calling the Democrats what they are -- economic fascists. Do your homework on that definition and youll understand." -- Neal Boortz, HERE"

That certain people can even consider enslaving doctors to any degree without meeting any objection whatsoever only underscores the incredible depths to which the moral depravity of many American institutions, public, academic and journalistic, have sunk. Slavery is horrible enough, but putting our best, most highly-skilled, educated and thoughtful professionals at the mercy of the worst, most ethically-challenged professionals such as politicians, bureaucrats and lawyers is worse than nauseating. See: "Putting doctors in jail for practicing medicine under arbitrary rules and paying old people to put doctors in jail is a moral outrage." HERE |

SEE: "If you want to see the future of health care in the United States just look at the VA hospitals today. ... The Washington Times is reporting that many veterans are waiting up to six months for an appointment to see a doctor. ... That, my friends, is your medical future
and it is your medical future because you have accepted the idea that you have a 'right' to medical care, a right that politicians are all-too-willing to recognize." HERE

Gee Chuckie, that's a shame. You, the Elder Senator, having to hold the virtual DNC Umbrella for a carpet-bagger who is now taking your rightful place as front-runner for 2008.
Tsk tsk tsk.

Hey...why don't we ever see a picture of Senior Senator Schumer and Captain Obvious standing next to each other?

"HILLARY will never be president."
Not only that, Hillary will not be nominated. The Dems are dumb but no one is that dumb, not after Tuesdays results. If a relatively non-polarizing figure like Kerry brought out that vote, a truly polarizing one like Hillary would bring an avalanche. After all, the Dems do want to win.
To: oldcomputerguy
I don't know. They are pretty dumb.
