So, what will Kerry do now?

This is more of a question, thus I have no source. Now that Kerry has lost, he will return to the Senate -right? Won't it be a bit uncomfortable for him to be in the Senate now that he has lost the presidency? Just curous as to thoughts on this....

He'll get back to working at the senate without actually going to any meetings, just like before.

Lots of drugs, booze. I imagine the Heinz Kerry mansions will resemble the movie "Who's Afraid of Virgina Woolfe" for quite some time.

He'll go back to the Senate and plan for the next election. He might even get around to passing a Bill with his name on it... probably renaming a Federal Outhouse on some back trail in the Berkshires.

The President should "reach out" by appointing
Kerry ambassador to France.

"So, what will Kerry do now?"

Cut off and throw away his pandering-of-cancer-patients-and-their-families, ever-deliberately-visible, Yellow Bracelet.

Besides, his secret meaning of it, and that of the Silky Pony's Yellow Bracelet, was they were *Promise Rings* to each other.

Secret lovers.

If kerry has spent much time in Congress over the past 20 years, I'm unaware of it. Still, I don't think his defeat in this election will be much of an issue with his colleagues. He retains his seniority and his usual allies and life goes on.

After John Quincy Adams lost his re-election bid, he resumed his old legislative career, serving furitfully in the House for the following 18 years until his death in 1848.

Take the express to Palookaville. One way ticket. Taking John Edwards with him.

Here's my bet, write it down:

Kerry will run for Minority Leader of the Senate for the 2005 session.......

From what I can tell, he's been planning to be president since at least Vietnam, when we restaged his exploits for his home movies. (Can you imagine a real war hero doing that?) An eventual run for the presidency was what the phony purple hearts were about too. And really, think about it -- he's in Vietnam shortly after a guy with a similar "Irish" name and same initials from Massachusetts became president after serving as skipper of a patrol boat. Jeez, if my initials were JFK and I was skipper of a patrol boat I think weird things would cross my mind, too. Anyway, then he becomes a senator from Massachusetts, just like guess who... Then he gets botox and perfect haircuts and pretends to play football and all that other stuff with only one thing in mind -- to become president. And now it's all over. A lifelong dream is over. So really -- what's he going to do now? Build model airplanes?

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you here, UWH. If kerry had seen any way at all to win the presidency by legal contest, he would have done so in a heartbeat. But he and his advisers saw it was hopeless. That, IMO, is the only reason he didn't do as Gore had done and put the country through 6 weeks of uncertainty and distress. In sum, this election just wasn't close enough to steal and the question of the uncounted provisional ballots couldn't save him because there were too few of them relative to Bush's lead, particularly in Ohio. It's no secret that roughly 80-90% of them get invalidated anyway.
