Helloe news media: Most people are against gay marriage not just "Right wing Christians"
the main reason for the president's re-election, a reason that surpassed all others, is that he provided solid and steady leadership in the war on terror. Something which his opponent appeared completely incapable of providing.
Liberals just love to make up fake bogeyman to try and scare people.
But when real villains come along like Bin Laden, they could just about care less.
The republican victory was a coalition of traditional republicans, fiscal conservatives, social conservatives, and pro-american moderates.
As a coalition, each separate group might have had one or more policies of the President that appealed most to them. The pro-family position would certainly have appealed to the social conservatives, but not necessarily to the tradition republican rinos or the pro-american moderates.
So, yes, the election was about the pro-family positions of President Bush, but only partially about that.
If I were to pick any single issue, I wouldn't pick the pro-family position as the one that crossed all lines. I'd pick American Security Interests as the critical issue.
