Dish on campaign trail follies (JOHN KERRY: "I Can't Believe I'm Losing To This Idiot")
NY Daily News ^ | November 4, 2004 | TRACY CONNOR

In the biggest fight of his charmed life, John Kerry swung between bewilderment and anger when things didn't go his way on the campaign trial.

"I can't believe I'm losing to this idiot," the Massachusetts Democrat sighed to a staffer when President Bush's poll numbers surged in April.

"Why the f--- didn't he take it?" he wondered when Republican Sen. John McCain refused to be his running mate a half-dozen times.

"It's a pack of f---ing lies, what they're saying about me," he shouted at an adviser as a group of Swift boat veterans stepped up attacks on his Vietnam War record while his team refused to let him respond.

Those are some of the behind-the-scenes stories from the year-long race for the White House revealed in a special Newsweek report out today. The magazine says Kerry's courtship of McCain to be his vice presidential candidate was far more intense than the public realized.

It started in August 2003, but kicked into high gear after Kerry nailed the nomination. He even offered to expand the veep's role to control defense and foreign policy. "You're out of your mind," McCain told Kerry. "I don't even know if it's constitutional, and it certainly wouldn't sell."

Kerry seemed stunned that McCain rebuffed him "after what the Bush people did to him," referring to the 2000 GOP presidential primary.

If you're losing to an idiot...what does that make you?

That's good. The best I could come up with is this:

First they tried to redefine "is"; then they tried to redefine "marriage"; then I heard on MSNBC that before 2008 they will redefine "morality"; and now they are trying to redefine "idiot". Someone must teach them to read and give them a copy of Webster's Dictionary!

"I can't believe I'm losing to this idiot,"

This says it all. Liberals are arrogant bastards who have no clue what wisdom is. Many of them are **book** smart but morons when it comes to people and life. That knowledge comes from God. They hate God. They will be clueless until they stop hating God.

If only the Clymer would look in the mirror he would see exactly where the blame lies.

Kerry, though, wouldn't go to any lengths for political gain. When Bill Clinton advised him to back laws banning gay marriage to pick up swing voters, he demurred, telling aides, "I'm not ever going to do that."

Kerry was a principled leftist. Not so principled that he would admit it during the campaign, but principled in the final analysis. And he would've been a far bigger disaster for America than even Clinton was.

The funny and Ironic thing about this is that Kerry will blame anyone he can on the lose but himself.

Which means he will subvert Hitlary's assention to the front of the line for 08.

A fight of the Century.

The Wicked Witch against Traitor Johhny.

Right. He would've responded but his team wouldn't let him.

Look, if Kerry had had any kind of answer to these charges he would have responded. He didn't, so he couldn't.

Believe me, I'm just giving him credit for the statement I quoted. I agree that he deserves condemnation for his treatment of Vets and POWs.

And the reason the media didn't report any of this before the election is...

{{{never mind -- don't answer}}}

If the MSM were NON-BIASED pack animals, they would have torn out Kerry's throat months ago.

What? Did the press just sit on all of this stuff until after the election????

Yes but it based around an agreement Newsweek made with both the Bush and Kerry campaigns. They would get access behind-the-scenes providing they promise NOT to reveal the workings until AFTER the election.

In other words, yes they sat on it because they promised to.

The quote/action I couldn't believe the Bush team didn't use was the one about it being unconscionable to authorize troops for war without adequately funding them.

More power to them. None of us should be. No one is more responsible for dividing this nation in 1971 and no one is more responsible for dividing it now.

After the 2000 election, Gore has proved that he is insane. Now in the next months to come, I'm sure that Kerry will prove to all that he is insane too. Two nuts, no balls.
