Vanity: How can President Bush reach out to the 48% of America that voted for Sen. Kerry?
Appoint Zell Miller as the Minister of Bipartisanship.
That's where you're wrong, he does have to, because he's George Bush. President Bush is the type to win graciously and extend his hand to his opponents and offer to share a bright future with them. So, in order to be himself, he does indeed "haveta". The anti-Bush crowd on here will never admit to it, but President Bush is a truly great man.
To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, that thou cans't not be false to any man.
The rest are what they are. There will always be at least 30% or so with very strong opposing beliefs.
Beware the "Uriah Heeps" out there -----planning, plotting, ingratiating their way into conservatives' confidence.
They would manhandle the social conservative victory----and dilute the presidential mandate conferred by proto-conservatives----for their own self-serving agendas.
The "Uriah Heeps" could care less for the rights of the unborn and the restoration of conservative values to our Nation, and the proto-conservative issues that drove millions of Christians to the polls.
The agenda-laden, elliptical thinkers lurk in the shadows plotting ways to take over conservative victories.
It ain't gonna happen.
Any mucking up of our hard-won conservative victory will be met with fierce resistance.
Moral issues were this election's key to victory, and moral issues will set the agenda.
What's to pity? We're going to make life better for them. Liberals will share in our future, and it's a bright one. This election has left me extremely optimistic about our future as a nation.
President Bush is already reaching out, it was never up to you.
No thanks. With all due respect, this is America and we don't need to emulate anyone.
It's always to the victor to be gracious, and as evidenced by his speech, President Bush is a gracious man. I can't help but love this guy.
On all fronts, the majority of Kerry voters will grudgingly acknowledge the more conservative, better way.
Yes, yes, finally someone who gets it.
Too late President Bush already addressed those who voted for Kerry. I truly love this president.
Nah, that won't be necessary. I firmly believe that the nation will be that much better off in 2008, that a lot of Kerry supporters will have come around and have realized that President Bush's policies did indeed work to build a stronger, more prosperous America.
You're too kind. I'd suggest he reach out with a blow torch.
That picture is so uncool. That more how DU sees the president. I can't believe a freeper would post a picture of the president doctored to look like he's flipping the camera off.
Huh? $35k a year is essentially chicken feed.
Doesn't matter if you're interested or not. President Bush has expressed exactly such an interest, and it matters coming from him.
With a boat hook.
What about us godless Republicans? Or rather, the Republicans who don't believe in gods. I personally resent being lumped in with socialists and communists. I'm neither.
First of all, he can get rid of some of the divisive partisans in the cabinet. Ashcroft, for instance, should be encouraged to resign -- and subsequently appointed to the Supreme Court. Either Rice or Rumsfeld must go -- right into the new National Intelligence Director position. President Bush can also work across the aisle with Senator Kennedy on the "No Passenger Left Behind Act," encouraging safe driving. And I'd love to see Sandy Berger back in federal employ, but I don't think he has the clearance necessary for even a dog catcher these days. Men's room attendant somewhere? Nah, he'd steal the towels.
Exactly, kudos. You understand the situation perfectly.
ping me too please. I'm very interested in this thread and those like it.
