After we're all done with a little gloating, we should take a long hard look at ourselves to figure out why this election had to come down to a single state -- it shouldn't have happened that way.
It happened because of fraud, in some cases, but I agree that we have not been good on getting the message out. However, when you consider the incredible amounts of money spent on keeping us from having access to the mainstream media, and in fact on blackening the name of Republican in the mainstream press and entertainment industry, it's remarkable that we did as well as we did.
We've got to keep on developing alternatives to the MSM, in my opinion. Our message is good, but they won't let us get it out.
I hope that long, hard look is at the media. Were it not for a complicit mainstream media--the media that gave Kerry such a free ride from any real, in-depth scrutiny throughout the campaign, the media that fabricated stories and evidence against the President (see Rathergate), and the same media that reported negative stories about the President 70% of the time in October. Do you think that had anything to do with why President Bush couldn't capture states like PA, MI, and WI?
I totally agree. Don't get me wrong, Tuesday was a smashing victory. It may be that this is the best we can do at the moment. It is hard to get past the Dan Rather and George Soros smears and the vote fraud. But we should be able to win a WI, PA, or MI once in awhile.
