Does anyone else feel a bit uncomfortable with calling the conservative victory "Red America".

Somehow it just doesn't sit right.

Can we also not begin to think about healing some divisions? And, being the party of adults, can we also not be the first to cool the rhetoric of division and start to think about how we can communicate to all Americans save a very slim minority of radicals?

It fits right. We're revolutionaries trying to oveturn the status quo. And that what has the Left all in a hissy fit. The Democrats are fighting to preserve their last crumbs of ancien regime privilege. And they will fail.

Wasn't this a Dem ploy from 2000? I seem to recall that originally (and briefly) they were coloring Gore states red and Bush states blue, but apparently the media were afraid the "red" would carry the obvious connotations and switched them. Don't recall the details.

I use to feel it was a slight to assign 'red' to conservatives, since 'red' is the traditional color/name for communists. However, now I've changed my mind. Red is the traditional color of power and virility (consider the traditional sports car color). I can live with that!

Already been tried. Think Ted Kennedy education bill. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, to liberals power isn't everything, it's the only thing. They will trash-talk and disagree with everything and anything so long as they are out of power. Quite simply, they are incapable of graciousness, of being the loyal opposition, of playing fair, or being honest and honorable. Anybody who witnessed the feminists roll over for Clinton's shenanigans knows this.

You are right. In other countries, the socialists are colored red, while the conservatives are Blue. The USA for some reason has it backwards. Europe for example, is all red. as was communist russia, China, etc.

It's just one of those glitches I guess.

I believe the tradition is that the party who hold the White House at election time is portrayed in red while the challenger is marked in blue. In '08, the GOP will be red again. If the GOP nominee should lose, then in '12 the GOP will be blue.

Rodney King: "Can't we all just get along?"

No we can't.

There is no middle ground on the sanctity of human life in the womb.

There is no middle ground on gay marriage.

They want unelected judges to control our lives. We want ourselves in charge of our lives.

They want socialized, government controlled medicine and health care. We don't.

We want individuals to breathe in personal liberty. They want the central "state" to call the shots.

They want the permission of a corrupt UN and cowardly France before doing what is obviously the right thing.

They want our guns taken away. We're busy loading them to be used against the evil in the world.

They want to run and hide from dictators and terrorists. We want to kill tyrants and terrorists by the trainload.

They call our good, moral leader "hitler."

They call devout Christians "Jesus freaks."

We are the serious grownups. They are the foolish, self-absorbed, naive and immature.

We won, handily. We decide.

How about red-blooded Americans? As opposed to blue-bloods, who are so Old-Europe.

Definitions for red-blooded :
Vigorous, lusty
Strong and highly spirited
Endowed with or exhibiting great bodily or mental health

Definitions for blue blood :
A member of the aristocracy
Membership in a noble or socially prominent family
