I posted this yesterday, but I think it's important to be reposted. There are two companies that were contracted by the consortium of six networks. The other one was Edison Media Research.

Thanks for reposting. I had no idea. And it should be in breaking news. I'm sure there are many who are still unaware of this.

Anyone who expected the media to play the election straight is fooling themselves. There is no limit for the left, how low they will go, if it gains them power.

From left to right: foreground: Warren Mitofsky, Joe Waksberg, Murray Edelman; background: Walter Cronkite, Charlie West, Martin Plissner
Warren Mitofsky started and directed the first network election pool, Voter Research & Surveys, from 1990 to 1993, later to become known as Voter News Service (VNS). Mitofsky and Edison Media Research have recently conducted exit polls in D.C., NJ, NY and for the 2003 California recall election. With the dissolution of VNS in 2002, the election consortium has chosen Edison and Mitofsky International to be the sole provider of Exit Polls for all Primaries and General Elections.

I think of a lot has to do with why an organization does whatever it does. If it undertakes a task to prove its own beliefs then it's going to a hit and miss proposition. OTOH, if it undertakes a task to discover the facts, regardless of where the chips might fall, then it will probably be around for a while. If it goes after information to back its side the odds are 50-50 that it will consider its efforts worthwhile. If it turns out the data does not back their beliefs they will probably consider it an exercise in futility. OTOH, if it gathers and reports data regardless of its own beliefs then one side or the other is going to embrace its findings. This organization will always have a market for it product!

I have never understood how lefties think. they constantly try the Goebbels school of Journalism. Tell a lie long and loud enough and people believe it. but what they are really doing is lying to themselves. Every shrink in the world would tell you living in a delusional world is not healthy. How many times do the media outlets have to be sucker punched before they wake up and say maybe we shouldn't pay attention to polls.
