As a young republican (first time)voter I am ashamed of the way we have been treating the other side. Some of these people are family, and most importantly they are Americans. It seems that both sides want to bring on another civil war, and the way everyone here is gloating like a bunch of schoolyard bullies does not help the deep devision in our country. It almost makes me feel sorry for them, almost.
Having said that go W!!!

The IS no help for the deep division in our Nation.
45% of the population want democratic socialism, 45% demand the freedoms enacted by our Founders. 10% don't give a flying freak and will go whichever way the wind blows.
This division will continue until the freedom-lovers are forced into shooting the socialists on sight. Period.

Hang around a while kid...
We show no mercy to those that would offer none.
They are not "Americans" in the sense that they believe in the founding principles of this nation. Their ONLY claim to the title "American" is that they happen to live here. Believe it or not that is a VAST difference.

Ah yes, you're right. We should be ashamed of ourselves. After all, they've only been demonizing us as cloven-hoofed demons hell-bent on wiping out large civilian populations for the pure and express purpose of lining our pockets with oil profits. And we do this while wishing to bring about the Fourth Reich while barely hiding a vicious desire to murder every gay person we see and seeking to bring about a theocracy. It's clearly up to -us- to "heal the division" in this country, after all, it's clearly all -our- fault.
Tell ya what. When -they- show the -slightest- interest in "helping the deep division in our country", let me know. Until then, I say they aren't getting one-TENTH the derision they deserve.

But its okay for them to come here to suckup bandwidth with their drivel day after day. Free Republic may banned them but to my knowledge had never lockout non registered users from even reading what its user think and feel. A bit of a double standard dont you think

Welcome to FR. Do yourself a favor. When they open up their site to the world, go look at how they view others.
Although FR can be "red meat" at time, it's nothing compared to the vitriol found there.
Guaranteed.

Dude, as you get older you will see the results of these detestable people. You will see the mass graves, the torture chambers, the class warfare, the lies. Grow a pair and start fighting them. Defeat is their future, we will win in the marketplace of ideas. appeasement is not an option.

Keep in mind that the internet chatter you see on a forum like this does not indicate real personal conduct or attitudes taken with family, friends and neighbors. Even those at conflict with each other here, put it aside, by and large, when we meet face to face.
It is a not our temperament we display here, but instead, our passions.

Son, I understand what you are saying, but the people at DU aren't normal middle of the road Democrats. Very often they are loose cannons who wish to use violence. They are hard core socialist/communists, and more importantly they are hilarious. Go over there in a few weeks and read and you'll see what I mean.

These people compared our President to Hitler, call our troops baby killers, want to tax my kids live's away from them and you are worried about their feelings getting hurt?
Today is a day for spiking the ball in the endzone and plundering the enemy's camp. If you want "reconcilation" and "healing" then figure out a way get them to accept morality as way of life. They hate us for our ideals, not becuase we chose to gloat at their misfortune during a hard fought victory celebration.

Chronph, the very people who are weeping and incosolable now are the ones who would have put on the brown shirts and started taking away your freedoms had their man won. Their passion and emotion runs both ways, and their sadness now is an indication of the vile orgy of liberalism they would have instituted under a Kerry administration.

Look, we have sustained a months-long choreographed assault against a very decent man who happens to be our President. The mainstream media tried every way it could to trash him, and there was a concerted effort by Hollywood and billionaire Hungarians to promote lies. Dan Rather made it a personal mission to falsify the news in order to hurt Bush.
Even yesterday, during the election, a scam was promoted to the American people in the form of deliberately false exit poll information in an effort to dampen Republican turnout.
We had nothing to counter any of this except the truth, and not many ways to get it out to the public.
WE WON IN SPITE OF THIS. A little gloating is definitely in order.
