"how long can one gal coast one the strength of one album" (Tapestry)..."

Coast? One album? Try hundreds of songs recorded by everyone from Tammy Wynette to the Beatles with folks in the middle like The Drifters, Jan and Dean, Quincy, Steve Lawrence, Aretha Franklin...the list is long.

I've always found the habit of tearing someone's talent or career down because of what he/she thinks to be childish and accomplishing of nothing. She's got her head up her ass politically but you've got to look long and hard to find someone more successful in America.

Thank Heavens for musicians like Alice Cooper, who actually said that these people should just shut up and sing. No one is interested in party affiliations, just music. (paraphrasing)

Dear Carole,

Evidently, You've Got A Friend somewhere in the Democractic Party. Sorry that you have been around so many male users in your life that none could make you say, "You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman."

You Just Call Out My Name if you want a dose of American truth.

Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow? I doubt it. But,One Fine Day you'll awaken to the realism that all you have had in your life is doom and gloom, failed love, failed business connections and backstabbing losers. You say, "Where You Lead" and you go, mindlessly oblivious to the concerns of common men and women. You know the folks who paid for all your mistakes.

You have woven a Tapestry that is So Far Away from reality as to be in, say, Podunk or Smackwater Jack USA. Now and Forever from this point forward, before It's Too Late try to do one thing, just one thing right. It Might As Well Rain Until September for people like you. Sad depressed thing, I feel your pain.

I Feel The Earth Move when I think of Kerry's attempt to launch the beginning of the end of his over thirty year old plan. I pray that no Child Of Mine ever has to call another soldier, Brother, Brother. But if so, I pray he will be a patriot, not a sell - out.

Now, you've Been To Canaan and Anyone At All can tell you that BUSH is the Friend of Israel.

I, nay, we, the American People have heard enough of your Jazzman.

I'm still getting "lucky" with a bottle of Mogan David and Kate Smith singing "God Bless America" in the background....

I wonder if Carole would like this treatment of her song ---

MIDI - IT'S TOO LATE -- scroll down to the 60s and look in the left column

You're a man who's seeking peace you will insist
But several decades you're a scumbag terrorist
Stevie Wonder sees what you will not see…it is all over

It is too late, Yasser…it is much too late…we grow weary of all your talking
And the best place for you is six feet under the ground…you're dead man walking…so
Kiss your butt goodbye

It really is too bad you chose the wrong career
You're a shoe in as the male model of the year
And even Stevie Wonder sees what you will not see…it's over

It is too late, Yasser…it is much too late…we grow weary of all your talking
And the best place for you is six feet under the ground…you're dead man walking
Bye-bye, Yasser

(musical break - advance to 2:44 if you wish)

Turn out the lights, it is the end of your show
Will you please drag Clinton with you, Yasser, 'cause he must go
Even Stevie Wonder can see the things you won't see…it's over

It is too late, Yasser…it is much too late…we grow weary of all your talking
And the best place for you is six feet under the ground…you're dead man walking
Bye-bye, Yasser

Say good-bye, Yasser…just say good-bye, you scumbag…just say good-bye

I'm not kidding. I do tell my husband how to vote. I tell him who's running, what they stand for and who he pull the lever for. I listen to him in matters where he has superior knowledge and he listens to me in matters where I have superiour knowledge.

If you're making under $200,000 a year, Sen. Kerry will not raise your taxes. But my taxes will go up to where they were before George W. Bush took office. As they should

Since all the celebs are for tax increases on wealthy people, such as themselves, why don't they voluntarily pay a higher tax rate and take no deductions? A flat 40% rate. Then they should release their tax returns to the public so we can be witness to their generosity.

PRESIDENT Bush should suggest this to them.

Black is so slimming don't you think??????? Nice Hair. Reminds me of genetic mutant mice with skin grafts! Jews never seem to get it. A vote for Kerry was a vote for Arafat. Hitlery kisses Arafat's wife, and the Jews still vote Demonic Rats????????? Does anyone understand the elite, effete Northeast Liberal Socialist comunist Jew who just has to show you how smart they are by voting in favor of appeasing terrorists who if they could would gladly walk them into an oven!

Another has-been former pop star for Kerry. Yawn.

"Tapestry" is a classic. Doesn't make the 40-years-hence political bloviations of its writer remotely relevant.

You can tell by the following lyrics, Carole has always been a Bill “Better Put Some Ice On That” Clinton kinda gal!

He Hit Me (It Felt Like A Kiss)
by Carole King (1963)

He hit me and it felt like a kiss
He hit me but it didn't hurt me
He couldn't stand to hear me say
That I'd been with someone new
And when I told him I had been untrue

He hit me (da-da-da-ah) and it felt like a kiss (felt like a kiss)
He hit me (da-da-da-ah) and I knew he loved me
If he didn't care for me,
I could have never made him mad
But he hit me (da-da-da-ah) and I was glad

(Da-da-da-ah)
(Da-da-da-ah)

Yes, he hit me (da-da-da-ah) and it felt like a kiss (felt like a kiss)
He hit me (da-da-da-ah) and I knew I loved him
And then, he took me in his arms
With all the tenderness there is
And when he kissed me (da-da-da-ah), he made me his
(Da-da-da)
